do you remember when I told you that you overthink things?

Well, ya, you're doing it again. :gap:
:gap: That's me! But really, I want very little lift and this is the first step, with it I'm already lifting the truck.

Duffil

it is on half of the leaf, so if you get one inch of vertical separation, you are only increasing ride height by .50".

same theory as a 1 inch over stock shackle.

jrock

Okay... you sold me. There's no other way of doing this other than frenching it and I don't want to get into that yet.

They are G8 and they're just for mockup. I plan to take it into Valley Trucking in Stockton and have them weld it up. I will likely leave the bolts in after for the hell of it.  :gap: Then I get new springs!  :crossed:

Pictures tomarra.

Not as good as I expected but I still haven't tweaked with it yet.
Double shackle Ford + 6in. Front mount moved 5in forward. 2wd F150 4 leaf with last removed and still has overload (stock u-bolts barely work).

Looks good! Is that left side rear shock hooked up? It looks like it's just hanging there.  :headscratch:

It is, I thought it was limiting flex but it's the shackles that's limiting it. The bolts are too tight.

EDIT: It is the tires hitting the frame that limits the droop.

I happened into the back entrance of the Rubicon last week  :D , from Tahoma, Tahoe and was surprised at the lack of vehicles. 4 hours on the trail (total) and I only saw 2 other vehicles. There was water and that was fun, I got lost and never found any good stuff   .

BTW, does anyone in near the SF Peninsula have a set of 1.5in wheel spacers I could borrow for a very short while. I want to see the stance and flex of wider axles. Please.

What are those rear shackle looking thingys? Are they bolted on too?

Do these parts interest you any?

The Double Shackles? The horizontals are Ford stock rear shackles and the verticals are 6in shackles.

Do you have spacers? What's the thing in the bottom left?

It is an extension for the torque rod. If you bolt it on and re-attatch the torque rod, it wont jerk to and fro when you hit the brakes. I took all of it off to install hi-steer. I figure you already know the other part is a drop arm. I do not have spacers, sorry.

Sorry, I don't need anything of the sort. I had my torque rod extended. Thanks though.

Rented a Lincoln 125 from HomeDepot. This is cool. Time to get stuff done.

Tackled a project that has been pissing me off the last few trips. My tires, in the stock location, shoved so far into my firewall that they have been ripping off tread   . Real real bad. So I drilled some new spring pin holes in my perches and moved the axle forward 1.5inches. Cut off 1/2inch from one side of my adjustable draglink and fitted it all back together.  No more rubbing... well, until I do 35's  :king: .
