from my experience. i say go to an auto tranny for sure!
makes a world of difference, plus it will make shiftin the atlas way easier.
if you are goin v8 might as well just go with a th400. stronger than the 350. Derek Trent at Trent Fab built my buddy the "last th400 he'd ever need" its a pretty bad ass tranny. id give him a call and see what he can do for ya, might be a little pricey but might as well do it right once.

Life's journy is NOT about arriving at the grave peacefully in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, worn out and beaten, shoutin HOLY Sh** what a ride!!!

I'm doin this cheaply, so I'm probably gonna run a stock tranny. I'm sure I'll end up with a TH350 or TH400 and probably a NWF Black Box/NP205 or a NP203/NP205 setup. I found a pretty good deal on a 203/205 setup with the NWF clockable adapter, 32spline outputs, NWF tripple sticks, 1ton flanges and it's the square 4 bolt pattern that will bolt straight to a TH350 with no adapters. Who knows only time/research/deals will tell...

HAHA I'm stoked as flopp too, I think a MSD ignition box with a 5200RPM rev limiter will be on my list... I picked up the TBI motor and harness earlier today for $100. May go get another newer one up with 120xxx miles with no harness for $75 and use those heads and TBI :pokinit: instead.

I always wanted to run a sm465 with the granny low first and a 203/ with a lomax 205 behind it with 3to1s Its damn near a w56 with duals and 4.7s and your stronger. A 205 is really easy to get front digs if im not wrong all you do is change something with the shift linkage if Im not correct? I forgot exactly how but im pretty sure

Yea that's what I really want but doing a auto will be cheaper, wont need a clutch/flewheel/slave cylinder and that that :pokinit:.

its gunna be nice to hit the throttle and not wait for 30 seconds to get up to speed.

You can get the 465 with a detachable bell housing and pretty much use almost all your stock toy stuff it really wouldnt be alot of work and wouldnt cost more than maybe a bill or 2 max.

WTF are you talking about keep all my stock Toyota stuff? The cases? Duh any ratard knows you can buy adapters. The only reason I am doing a V8 is to get rid of the Toyota cases because they aren't BEEF AT ALL. I don't quite understand what you are telling me?

Been really busy with work and life lately. Toyota hasn't been touched besides sending the input back to TG and I had a brand new one at my doorstep the next day. I need to put the cases back in it so I can move it out of my moms sideyard into my new garage. I'll probably just leave the Toyota drivetrain in it until I break another output and hopefully by then I will have my big boy drivetrain built and almost ready to throw in there.
