Well Finally got motivation and put my tcase back together for the 5th time a week or two ago. I still need to get a stub shaft for the D60 and it will be wheelable again. I'm gonna try and make it out to Niagara Rim for 4th of july if everybody else is going and if nobodys going there I really want to try and make it to Rubicon with some other buddies. Nothing at all has been changed on this thing so this isnt a real big update, and I still don't have internet at my house which really blows.

I dropped down a wall a little wrong into a big V wash onto the passenger side. If my fuel tank wasn't soo beat down and my truck would have stayed running I probably could have easily driven right out of it but not with my luck. So we had to get a built Toyota and my buddys Dmax to pull my truck down through the wash on it's side. About halfway down my truck went all the way over so we drug it pretty damn far upside down. It tore my hood/fenders up pretty good, bent/smashed/dented my radiator pretty good, tore both of my headlights off, bent my PS cooler, blew both right beads and folded the top of my windshield frame in almost to 180*... We rolled it back over at the bottom, started it right up, aired up the tires, hi-lifted my windshield frame back into place (kinda), ratchet starpped my radiator away from the fan, turned on my flashlight for a headlight and kept wheelin.

Thanks for the offer but it would cost me just as much to get there and back than it would to get one from 1-800-radiator through work. I live back down in Modesto...

Just took the bed off. Gonna make something happen back there with no bed and probably gonna hang the bed sides back on it when i'm done.

It's getting some :pokinit: pipe thrown at it soon hopefully. Nobody around here has a damn bender so I'm gonna use a buddys Harbor Freight pipe bender. None of what I will do on the front end is structural so :pokinit: pipe will work just dandy. I'm debating on a tube (or pipe) kinda bed deal, but Lately I've been a lot more talk than build so who the flopp knows what will happen...

so what your plans for it now

Jud

Well I got motivated after stopping by Justin's (Snoeshoebrew) house Saturday. So built a new radiator mount with a pretty new radiator and finally mounted my power steering res. this weekend. Just need a little more :pokinit: pipe and I'll have enough to finish the front clip for now, then I will remount the fuel tank behind the cab. I really want to try and make it to the round up, all I need after I mount the fuel tank is one 39.5 tire for a 15" rim and hopefully a cromo output.

I will get a pic or two of the radiator mount up here in the next few days...

EDIT: I also need to get some new headlights

Well I've been lagging this week so far. I haven't touched anything besides my Ford, The Slave cylinder and clutch fork fagged off on me yesterday so I wasn't motivated to do anything on the Toyota. That actually put me about $100 further away from making it to the Roundup.

Not the nicest thing I've ever built but I used what I had laying around minus the hood pins. I used 1"x2" for the rad mount and tied them together and to the drivers shock hoop with some 1" SCH40 pipe. I couldn't tie the passenger side into the shock hoop because my intake and battery are in the way so I put a 1"x1" square tube gusset at the bottom. I am still going to bend a couple tubes to tie the rad mount into my cage and mount my fenders off those. I am really kicking around the idea of keeping the hood and new fenders stock width but I will probably end up pinching the front corners of the hood in a couple of inches. I also finally rigid mounted my steering res to my shock hoop.

My moms boyfriend also brought home some tire boots to repair the torn sidewall on one of my IROKs. Were gonna put a boot on the inside and one on the outside then mount the tire so the boot will be on the inside to keep it a little more protected.

I was in the garage today and I think I decided to narrow the hood almost like my other one. Just because it will be that much easier without a tubing bender and I already have fenders that are ready to be bolted on. So in that case my grill will be dialed...

Well I decided and made the cut on my hood this weekend. I didn't get much done this weekend because of turning 21 on Thursday... However I did cut my hood down, half ass painted it black and tied my rad. mount into my firewall. I cut some plates out and welded them to my firewall then welded the tubes to those. I tied the passenger side into the cage already and I will tie the drivers side in the same way. I am also gonna make some gussets out of plate more for looks but will make everything stronger.

Now I'm debating on putting fenders back on it or just adding more braces/gussets to fill things in a bit?

Just a thought with that radiator mount:
-Every time you roll (which is bound to happen) youll crush your radiator??? just seems you can do more than to leave it exposed like that. just by lookin at it, it doesnt seem like it will hold the weight of the truck when it hits.

Just some food for thought

Not trying to be rude Justin, but give me a tubing bender and money for tubing and everything would all be over built. But I don't have :pokinit: for money right now, barely enough to live after paying rent and all that jazz... So for now just to get my broke ass back out there I'm using what I have around the house to make it suitable enough. Honestly it is going to be overbuilt for what I'm building it out of, obviously not BEEF but it'll work for now.

Well I haven't touched :pokinit: on this pile besides pulling the welded spider/side gears out of another 14B carrier I have had laying around. I'm going to replace the Detroit with the welded spiders to get rid of the (excessive to me) backlash that is present in all Detroit lockers which plays a part in breaking my output shafts.

I did go up to Niagara Rim this passed weekend and rode with some Buddy's which really got me motivated to try and get this thing out there. Money is just not very present lately which really sucks.
