Got ancey to work on this thing today, so I took the two bottom leafs out of my front spring pack to lower it a little. Then Matt and I were looking at it and decided to put the shortest spring (which was the very bottom "helper" spring) and put it on the top of the pack. Reason being is I've seen more than a few front main leafs break right at the ubolt plate, now the ubolt plate rubs against the short spring instead of the main leaf.

I am going to take the 1" lift blocks out of the rearend probably tomarrow and mount my front shocks a little higher so they wont limit droop anymore.

Ahh. That's cool. I was just wondering.   So do you think that the helper spring on the top of the pack is the say to go?

Jud

Looking at it/thinking about it it's feasible

We actually both got the idea mainly from where your main leaf broke a few weeks back...

Here are a few pics for the illiterate...

Truck is dirty as :pokinit:, I never got a chance to wash it before I pulled it in the sideyard after Rubicon.

And yes my front pinion seal is leaking, it's not my top priority...

I'm thinking of building some ubolt plates out of some 1/2" plate I have. These stock plates are super heavy/bulky/ugly...

those stock plates are spring breakers anyway. would be real good to replace them

Took the 1" lift blocks out of the rear, It sits at a way better height now. Frame was at 29" which is way tooo high. I also discovered that my brand new rear ujoint is blown out, Both yokes were fucked when I broke the ujoint at Moonrocks. A buddy gave me a IFS CV, so I am going to rebuild my driveline with that instead of getting two new yokes and a ujoint.

So I went through finding a triple drilled flange to run the CV and I went to check if it would clear the horse collar xmember. Well guess what, it wasn't even close to fitting without cutting the horse collar out. I don't have the tubing bender right now nor the tubing to build a new horse collar. So I decided to fix my yokes, I took the blown joint out and spent about 45min. flapper wheeling, filing and terry clothing my yokes back into shape. I guess when another joint breaks I will break down and build a new high clearance horse collar probably out of 2"x2" square tubing.

eh just hack the center of the xmember out for now. between a rear bumper and if that round tube xmember is still in there you should be dandy till you can make somthing new down the line since toyota frames dont flex hardly at all

Yea I just put a new ujoint in. I will prob build a new one when I get back. Maybe even under the driveline instead so I can mount lower links to it later on...
