I want to. If i am in country and can get the time off I will be, but I dont think I will be able to reserve the dates far in advance so lodging will be interesting.

Ok well I went out on my own again but I feel pretty safe since the trail is completely tame and real close.

Like I was saying this is really just a old fire road/ jeep trail. the 2 pics I did get...

I could have gone up all the way, but didnt.

I went out again this weekend, both yesterday and today.
There was alot more to offer at the place I found today. Hill climbs, plenty of off camber a few areas of mud. It is obvious to me that I will need to clearance the wheel wells some. I nearly ripped the lower rear quarter plastic trim when flexing out on the side hill at this construction site.

3 other problems I had:
-Some how I lost the nut on the lower end of the pass side shock, a quick trip to Lowes remedied that.
-My rear window isnt working right now, I must have loosened a connection  in all the bumping around.
-For some reason my rear transfer case is leaking at the stick, between the stick and base, not base and housing. Any guesses as to why?

All and all I had fun and will be going back.

I cant believe I am thinking this. I am thinking I might want to go with a different platform. More power, a little newer, and with a truck bed. I am considering a 96-04 tacoma extra cab trd v6. There cost has gone down alot in the past years. I dont use or need the back seat of my 4runner. There just isnt that much room for truck/ trail supplies and personal gear of more then 2 people in the 4 runner. It would be nice to have a truck bed every now and then for dirty and muddy things/ days.

Who knows, maybe I have just had too much time on my hands this week since I have been down from having my wisdom teeth out. I just need to get out work on and wheel my runner some more. I must admit though, seeing all these nice sas'd tacos on here and pirate aren't helping me any.

Resist the temptations..... wheel and camp in your 4runner a little more before you make that final decision. Don't get me wrong, tacos are sick and if you feel they suit your style better then go for it... but I would give your 4runner a few more chances to prove itself

Ok, so this 1 is a  :headscratch:

The trip when that last pic was taken a few weeks back, My rear window stopped working. Ive been able to do some trouble shooting. It appears the problem is some where between the window control box just behind the B pillar (just put a new 1 in) and the motor. I checked the motor and it works fine. Is there any relays, or anything in the harness along the body there that could be my problem. I admit electrical is not my best, ok, I suck at electrical.

Any suggestions?

Well some updates....
-Throttle cable nearly gone so I am not going anywhere until I get a new 1.
-I have been having problems with my idle and am pretty sure its mt TPS
-Still cant figure why my rear window isnt working  :headscratch:
-Have a bunch of parts that should be arriving in the next few weeks: bumpers f & r, winch, performance cam, header

When every thing gets here I'll post up some new shots.

A big thanks to girlzlikemud2 from the PRACTICALLY ANYTHING YOU WANT thread for getting me a throttle cable.
Great customer service!

I hadnt been driving since last saturday due to the frayed throttle cable, I am so happy to be driving again :D

Throttle cable is in and I got my new rear bumper that should be getting painted and installed this weekend.

Does that mean your idle was fixed by the new throttle cable?

nope, that idle problem i was having is still there. I will be replacing my TPS this weekend most likely in hopes to fix the skip in idle when the brake is depressed.

Well in the past week I got my new  :turtle: rear bumper mounted and installed. Also got a complete new exhaust, LCE header all the way back.

I am pleased to say Ive noticed a increase on the top end of the power band with the new header.

Out of the kit I got all I used was the header. Due to my 4xinnovations cross member in the way I could not use the supplied o2 sensor pipe. It ended up being a custom job the whole way back, not that i minded or cared much. I kinda expected it from the beginning.

-Full float rear with disc brakes
-25mm Steering Pin Upgrade, Kit
Need or want?

I already have ARP hub and knuckle studs. The way I look at it, build it nice and strong and not worry about breaking. I seriously doubt I will push my 4runner that hard, but the extra strong parts would be a nice touch.

same here if you were to push it hard i'd say the pin upgrade but you should be fine and i personally feel full flowter is a little much id just do a disk break conversion. Pm Boggerunner he has brakcets to mount v6 calipers and taco disks works good
