Bam!

Called my friend with the torchmate yesterday. He was already making some other brackets and told me to swing by and we'll bust out the York brackets real quick. Done deal.  8)

Well I am slowly working on putting everything together for my York OBA. As long as it is done by the summer wheeling season, that is all I care about.

The fj80 e-brake lever is like a a car, it pulls up from the floor right between the seats. That is obviously different from what my 85 4runner had so I had been scratching my head about my e-brake for some time. I had finally found a company that deals with custom cable's, brake, throttle and what ever else. http://store.controlcables.com/servlet/StoreFront I called them up, explained my problem and sent in the stock fj80 E-brake cable that I had. They shortened 1 section and replaced the short piece of 6mm all thread that is at the end of the cable with a longer piece of 8mm all thread.

The newly modified cable arrived today and I set to work mounting it and fabbing the last bracket necessary, the fulcrum point. Again this being a different application then what this cable had been intended for it appears I may have not had them remove enough from the 1 end  :smack: I have more tinkering to do to work out all the bugs.

New and old cable

Pivot point/ fulcrum bracket

everything mounted

Thanks. It has been a project for sure. I like the threads here due to the conversations and some pretty good tech.

After having throttle issues I ended up swapping on a later intake plenum and throttle body in place of my original 85 pieces. I am very impressed with the results. My throttle response is much better.

thats right finally getting sue 4.7s prepped for twin sticks but this is your build so your truck is looking good bro i really wanted to check out the rear with the truck tail gate. i wish i had a little more time to look her over. i know i probably read it but what size tires are those 37". because when you crossed the river in that video they disappear, and i can't lie made me kinda scared since i am on 35".  but you did it like a champ. any ways nice truck bud.

I am on 37's. The tailgate conversion was very easy. there were only 2 rigs on 37's when we went and 3 on 35's. They all did fine crossing. although the water started to get over the hood on 1 rig.

I haven't been on your thread in awhile, I was scrolling down and got to the first pic of the stretch. I said out loud... NICE!!! lol

The wheel base stretch is hard to do but way better in my opinion. You get the same deparcher angle as a bob, but dont have to deal with the top. I was going to do this to my 86 4runner but traded for a pickup. Now Im back with a 4runner, and it will be one of the first things off the list. The 4runner is sick, nice work!
