I'd rather use a hand file than that POS.....it would probably blow up :attention:

there cheap, but pretty bad ass. pay the extra $5 and its under warranty. return it and they hand you a brand new one in the box.

it looks like at full droop its trying to pull them down off the frame cause the shocks all the way extending and at full compression its trying to shove the ford towers in towards the motor. that sucks. just plate all the way across the frame and youll be fine and when you reweld them back on mount them a bit lower on the frame so theres more of the tower being welded to the frame, basically that whole square area around that hole in them. reinforce it to if you can.

Thats what happend to me. Plate the frame, brace the towers & install bump stops. I drilled hole through the plates & plug welded them to the frame.

yep do that and even keep going all the way to the front of the frame for the steering box. mock something up with some thin cardboard.

yeah the reason i put them on higher is because the shocks were a little long, so i didnt want them to just bottom out.

Its not just for the banning, if a trail is closed, and we wheel it anyway, it makes all of us wheelers look bad,and is detrimental to our cause of keeping trails open.

Why were they closed?  due to the fires? or did the highlakes actually get closed down?  I've heard of them talking of closing them down, but hadn't heard that they did.

808

well there was a tiny sign off the side of the road by philbrook that said trail closed till the fires are out but it was posted june 26th or something so i didn't know if it was still closed or if they hadn't picked up the sign, once we saw all the helicopters and smoke we turned around and went back after watching them for a bit

mayberry

he bod banned from marlin for saying he broke down a ranger gate and wheeled down by lake oroville. witch in fact the gate was on his own proporty and he said ranger gate just to describe what kind of gate it was. (it provided the rangers a way to get to the lake through his proporty) o ya and he said he was drunk (witch was his bad) so he got banned indefinatly and then after a heated debate got allowed back on the site a little over a week later. so we mind our P's and Q's around here now if you do anything illegal just dont mention it or if you do just be carfull what you say

mayberry

and if i where you i would modify the post that norcaltoy is talking about because ontherocks got banned probably a month after his statements. so i would just take out the part where the trail was closed

it was posted in my old build up thread, that is now deleted.
and yes i thought it was dumb to do.
but in the time of us trying to keep the trails open... we do have to watch what we say and do.

anyways, i think we need to let it slide.
on with the build.
