Well, it's pretty close to parallel, and I think the nut will be okay. I'll flex it out next chance I get. Hopefully it'll be okay  :crossed:

DTB

I'm not sure if I explained that too well!  :headscratch:

Yea, you did fine. Two different places to look - parallel and clearance on the pitman nut  :yesnod:

Gittinit

I think you may be fine with the mount as is, but the reason I thought you may need a flatter pitman arm is becouse..... When the springs flatten out you might have contact issues with the pitman/main leaf. You could always just bumpstop the suspension, to keep them from contacting, but thats just a bandaid, for a mistake. The pitman nut won't be as big a clearance issue as the tre, the spring moves verry little near the pitman arm nut, but significantly more near the tre.

I am prolly a mile off with what I think, too, couse pics are decieving, and its hard to tell anything till you cycle your suspension. Your homeade springs will make a difference to, as a flatter spring may have more issues than one with some noticable arc.

Word, Michael. I've gotta cycle it before I do anything. Flat pitman, relocate... We'll see. I think I might go out there tonight.

What color should I go with on the outer rings of the beadlocks?  :headscratch:
hot pink :disturbed:

lets see how the box works  befor ya change it

After a flex test, I think the box will be fine. However, to play it safe, I'm going to get a flat pitman arm. I also have to cut down the anti-wrap top leaf spring so that the pitman nut won't be getting messed with.

I finished up the steering box mount. I welded it smooth, and I'll be able to bolt that pup up as soon as I switch pitman arms.

I was very pleased with Snoop's flex  :muscles: I think I'll have ample travel to keep the tires connected.

No pictures yet, but I cut up the tranny tunnel more. I think the horsecollar is gonna have to go or get some significant shaving. Now the thing that hits is the top of the rear case above the front output. This means I'll be cutting a nice little square out below the passenger's seat. Then I think I'll be able to get to flatness. I'm about 2" away now.

After playing with the tubing bender a little while, I'm very pleased. The air over hydraulic is sweet, as I won't have to pump a handle or exert myself in any way... I'm soooooo cool...  :rofl2:

I rolled the 38.5 into the fenderwells, and I'm set to be cutting a sizable chunk now. This should be sweet  :eyebrow:

I'll post up pics when I get 'em. Keep the thoughts and prayers coming - I need them

Only kidding...  :talkingn:

I'll get picks as soon as I go back out there. Might be going to Disney this weekend, but I think I need to stay and work on some stuff. Boo hiss...

Jordan7118

I've not made it back out there for picks, so I'm sorry for that...  :outtahere:

I did have an epiphany tonight and realized how I can mount my cases. I'll post more later when I have time to explain and add pics.

Flat pitman arm....

MiniSimp, I think you're right  That's how I'll have to go, me thinks.

DTB, I like the hack. I've already hacked as much as I want to. I'm scared of getting into the body mount, though I'm told it's strong enough to take some cutting.

heres a pic of mine ,  i leaned mine back much further, the bottom bolt holes are near  level with each other,

It's time to unveil my plans to see what you guys think.

I plan on buying ( :smack: ) a FROR center plate mount for the t-case to mount it up. I can't buy their rotated crossmember because I'm putting the drivetrain too far up and don't wanna cut through the body again to make the side mounts work.

I'll make the crossmember to look similar to All-Pro's crossmember in that it will use bushings that mount horizontally instead of vertically like the FROR crossmember.

Then I'll tie in the All-Pro e-brake kit by cutting it off at the plate and rewelding it to my new crossmember/plate.

I will make the attachments from the center to the framerails of 3/8" plate just like the center.

What ya think?  :dunno:

Steering Situation:
I can exchange my normal drop pitman arm for a flat pitman, so I'll be returning that soon. I'll get pics tonight when I go out there and post them up SOON <--for Michael

Post up, peeps!

Dangit I have nothing to contribute, or give ya a hard time about now. I was telling Mike that your finally working on this thing now. We are ready to hit some trails!

Tell Mike I said hello, will ya Michael? I'm lookin' forward to putting my money on the trails

Here's some of the steering box as of two nights ago. We made a plate to go over the top. Hard to tell from the photos, but I need to chop the top anti-wrap down a little, and a flat pitman will work.

Here's your commitment to flatbelly  :hammerhead:  :moon:  I believe the next obstacle is the tunny trannel by the firewall, so this is about as high as it gets. Now I have to hack up the backseat tunnel, too, for the driveshaft... Yippee!!!

And what you wanna see...

Angled...

Notice there's no gas tank...  :inthedark:  Yea, I made a mistake cutting below the passenger's seat, and now it looks like I have excuse to get a fuel cell or new gas tank. How hard is it to patch fuel line up?  :dunno: Never done that kinda work before.

Here's how I envision Snoop before fender trimming. Need to move the axle forward between 2 and 3 inches by cutting out new holes for the spring pins.

Tonight, I'll hack some more of the tunnel into the rear seat area and work on a sweet little thing I've got planned for the horsecollar crossmember  :eyebrow:

Post up some love

Jordan7118

I tried forever to fix the first pics, but they just wouldn't happen. Fixed 'em in paint and then saved them to no avail. Sorry...  :outtahere:

so you cut into the gas tank ??

No, I just cut one of the lines running below the floor, and I needed to drain the tank anyways as year-old gas through a newly-rebuilt engine isn't the best. Figure now I may as well fix the situation as opposed to putting something back that's only good enough for factory... Sheesh...

:ack:  Can't really blow up. For it to blow up, you need air, spark, and fuel. Not enough air to keep it going into the tank. We did stop cutting after we found that I'm  :hammer:

Haven't made any progress sense last pics. I'll get out there soon and see what's up. Need to run to a steel supplier and get some plate and square tube. I'm back to making a t-case mount like 4rnRick's because I've found that the e-brake kit is gonna be way too much work... Maybe I'll add a line-lock later... Who knows.
