guru, means dumb redneck right? Hey did ya get my bill yet?

Youd better quit goofing and get them braces in before its too late. There isnt enough structural stength in that bed bar to save your hide as is, so get em put in!

He was supposed to be going on a float trip. He was gonna call me, and I am supposed to pick him up or something, but I havent heard from him in a few weeks. Well not since he blew the motor in his DD.

After being gone most of the summer (military stuff) I finally got my daily driver motor finished and put in...  I did a complete rebuild ended up going 20 over on the pistons and went with a LC Engineering cam.  I also went with the K&N Mass Air Flow and filter system since my MAF flapper was corroded up from sitting for so long...  I've got around 450 miles on the new engine.  Feels kinda sluggish, or maybe I just expected more..  Hopefully its performance will improve when it gets a few more miles on it.

It is great to have the daily driver up and running again regardless.  Time to get back to work on the Punisher Yota!

And I did go on that canoe trip.  5 days on the Current River.  It was awesome.  The canoe fit perfectly on top of the rollover protection, it cleared the cab by a good half inch too, almost like it was planned that way.

Uhh..  I don't know...  Just figured I would build another one with a truss, new bearings...  5.29s, locker, you know, the usual stuff...

I also have the Hy Steer attached and ready to be installed too...

ok, that would be the .440 lift lc cam,  man  it should be very peppy,  pull your valve cover  and set the timing mark on the crankshaft on 0*, the cam timing mark(dimple on cam gear)  should be just to the pass side of straight up,   like 11:50 as compared to "straight up" being 12 oclock

yep its 1 tooth off, remove the gear and rotate the cam counterclockwise one tooth

the cam dowel should be straight up, the dimple  should be to the passenger side of 12 oclock

fix that and i'll bet it gives ya whiplash

Yeah, the dowel is closer toward the 1230 or 1 o'clock position.  When I move it back a tooth do I need to adjust anything else?

nope,  that will fix it

once you get the cam set  just reinstall the distributor  and fire it up

Okay, moved it back a tooth.  Now it definately seems to perform better above 3000 rpm, but now it seems quite sluggish below 2500.  Before it seemed like it wanted to run off the idle better but the performance above 3500 rpm was not as good...  Maybe I need to get an adjustable cam gear and set it in the middle of the two.  Any thoughts?
