Hey Dave, just thought this is something you might want to use somewhere.  Just be sure the signature makes it into the picture if you use it.

I'm going to be in Junction next week working on my pre-runner at the shop and getting my Hummer worked on at the Chevy dealer.  I should be coming down on Wednesday and probably be there until Friday.  I'll give you a call when I'm down there.

Jason

GJToyotabug

cool well you should have my number i think the guys at WCCC would like to check it out

FireGuysRacing

Not a problem, but I hate to tell you the race truck is up here right now.  It will be back down there as soon as we get all the mechanical stuff done from the last race we did.  Then its down to Grand Junction to tear the front bumper off and the front left steering knuckle and rebuild them!  I'll give you a call anyway, I'll be working on the truck in the picture.

Jason

WCCC? I am not sure what that is........

GJToyotabug

oh dang thats sweet its giving me a chuby ha ha jk

WCCC is Werstern Colorado Community Collage  it used to be U-tech it has a really cool automotive program they have a deal for high schoolers they pick a certan amount of kids for some of their programs here's an over view of it http://www.mesastate.edu/wccc/hs.htm deffently would be cool for some of us high school students to check out the race truck when it gets back down here.

FireGuysRacing

Personal truck.  It does have a Marlin adapter plate in it though.  I have an R151 behind the 3.4 ltr supercharged V6 with my '86 4cyl transfer case so I can keep my 4x4.  The truck used to have the 22re in it.

Jason

GJToyotabug

doesn't it have the total chaos gen.3 lift in it?? I thought their wasnt clearance to run axle shafts. but i could be wrong its been awhile

FireGuysRacing

Gen II not III.  The Gen II was specifically made to run the coilover, bypass, and keep the 4X4.  The Gen III is too wide of a stance to run 4X4, as is with the Gen II you have to get T-100 axles that are 3" longer per side.  Gen III is somewhere in the neighborhood of 17-18"s of wheel travel in the front.

Jason

GJToyotabug

oh ok i couldn't tell. well jason i got bad news i kinda had a boo boo with my truck im not sure yet but i think i threw a rod or ate a rod bearing so my poor little truck is down for the count and it looks like it'll be awhile untill i can fix it.  I still want you to come down to show the trucks to my auto class. thanks

Josh

THK Matt

I have decided to cage the whole thing so I'll get some pictures to put on here in about a week and a half when I am down there again.  They will be pretty plain right now though, I'm stripping it for the cage.

Jason

Here is what it used to look like.

So I started a post in the build-up section for the building of the pre-runner.

http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=51065.0

That way we can keep this thread about the race truck and the tranny.  By the way, we have the tranny back from Marlin Crawler and they have added a short shift on it for us and I am excited to try it out.  We are about done with the mechanical work and will be doing the fabrication stuff shortly.  We will keep everyone posted, but are shooting for doing a race in So Cal on New Years Eve day.  Its the MDR Superstition series and there is suppose to be a Mini Metal race with 10+ 7s trucks.  We hope to be on top!

Jason

BUDDERS

Cool, I might see you out at Placer City.  I might be out there co-piloting a 1450 truck sponsored by Mirimar Truck Shop.   I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get to ride in it.  It's about a 50/50 chance.

I will still be out there anyways and would love to take a look at your setup.

Well, we didn't get into the race in Plaster City, the 7s thing kind of fell through at this race.  We are pre-entered into the Battle at Primm race, which will also get us an entry into the Mint 400!!  The first one will be kind-of like short course racing, its about a 10 mile loop that you do 4 laps on Sat and Sun!  Balls to the walls!  Then the Mint 400 is the famous race that has been around for ever and it hadn't been raced in years and they brought it back last year.  If anyone can make it out, let us know so we can meet you and hopefully have you along in the pits!
