hey marlin, im trying to get ahold of my friend val at KOH, she is co-piloting the #8 rockstomper buggy, and lives in denver co, she will be coming back through grand junction on her way home, and if i can get ahold of her, she might be able to bring back the transmission.

Marlin

boggerunner,

I will be at the hammers until sat afternoon and would really appreciate the help on behalf of the fire guys.

The trans weighs around 100 lbs.

no problem, i will get her cell # tomorrow, and PM it to u tomorrow

Marlin

Great, I will be driving there Wed evening. It is 6 hours south east of Fresno.

I would be happy to look Val up and personally load it myself!

Cell phones do not work well there, unless you get out of the lakebed.
The closest cell tower is up at Bear Bear Lake.

Please keep me informed.
We still have until Wed to work this out.
Now, if only the trans was finished...

Big Mike,

Thanks for taking the time to make this new "get out and jump it" section.

Hey FGR, quick question I noticed in the video Josh posted of the 1450 race, looked like the truck only had a problem with the deep sand.
otherwise, from the video... that truck seems to handle and perform pretty well.

great josh guys!
Josh keeps me informed of you guys constantly!

ThatHOKid

It's not really a problem just something you have to deal with.  Every truck has the same issues with the sand "robbing" your power and in the sand the holes got really big at this race.
To finish first you first must finish!  You have to beat the desert and then beat the competition!

you posted 4 links to the same picture :headscratch:

ok, dumb question maybe  but i notice the numbers change, is that a different truck or just a different number for a different style race :dunno:

I don't know what happened there.  If you hit the arrows to the next few pictures you will see the other ones I was trying to send you to.

Marlin

Thanks for those picts.
That is one BIG turbo. On such a small motor, it must take some time to spool up!
I really wish I would of taken time to find you at Primm.

some of you guys may find this funny here is a video of my original dyno tune. Although the motor blew up I'm pretty much running the same setup.Full Boost comes on at 3200 rpm. Truck was over boosting at the time. you'll see the boost is 8 psi then runs out of control at higher rpm. Changing the cam fixed all the overboost issues.

Edit by BigMike: I fixed the video code

FireGuysRacing

What a bummer!  How is that coming out of the corners?  Are you able to keep the rpms in the power band or do you feel a little lag before it sits you in the seat!?!  Thats way more HP than we are putting to the ground with our 3rz!

WOW a boosted 22RE, that's an intense setup boys.

Just imagine if he had a boosted 3RZ!!! :burnout: I bet the same time and money invested into a 350 HP 22R-TE would result in a 500 HP 3RZ-TE :eyebrow:

a 500 hp 3rz is possible although I would need to go to a gt30r turbo. Now what would happn if I put a gtr30 on my 22re? 500hp. As long as the motor can turn the turbine you can creat the power. I think the 3rz would be great if I was going for over 650hp but that would just be crazy. My truck is already fast enough with the 350 I have right now. Also I hate to see what Marlin would have to do keep one of those tranny's together.

Fireguys what are you getting out of your na 3rz.
