so i got off the phone with josh, they won thier class 7s race by 30 mins, and he isnt sure exactly what place they got in the 1450 class, he thought somewhere around 30 out of 70+ trucks

GJToyotabug

were still looking into it we finished 30th in 1450 saturday, 21 sunday and jason is thinking in the high teens for over all. AND!!!!! lucky us marlin just so happened to be in primm the same weekend he walked out to his truck and saw the race truck lining up and ran out their pointing at his shirt pointing at the sticke saying he's marlin trying to shake jasons hand and lots of other stuff. OH! we are gonna need some new marlin stickers (maybe those Marlin Hauler ones we were talking about)  so we are in need of some fiber glass too, lost right fender and bed side. here are some pics

Had an awesome time!! Jason Drove the 7S race Sat. Morning and I drove the 1450 race Sat. afternoon. On Sunday I drove 7S in the morning and Jason drove 1450 in the afternoon. Jason Hauled the mail in the 7S race on sat. giving us a 15 min. lead. I had a blast racing in the 1450 race Sat. afternoon, so many trucks passing, getting passed what a riot! I think we finished 30th in the 1450 race on Sat. (started 44th). The start was the best, our 4 cyl pulled both trucks we started next to almost all the way thru 2nd gear then the truck to my left (v8) passed us but we pulled the truck on my right. On Sun. went out and got the lead in the 7S race and then just cruised to the finish and win! Jason drove the 1450 race on Sun. and finished 21st. I'll let him chime in to fill everyone in on his highlights. We had a couple small issues with the truck that we fixed, broken rear brake line, bent rod on the pedal assembly, lost some fenders, and a shackle bolt that loosened up. Thanks to SNORE for an awesome race!

Paul

PS Jason's Girl Marissa took over 500 pictures, alot of sequence shots, we will upload them. Also got some incar that will be posted in the near future!

Marlin, it was an absolute pleasure meeting you at the races last weekend!  I can't wait to get back together with you again!  I will have to say you have a great product and great employees working for you.  I will be posting all the info and stories about the races as soon as we know where we placed in the 1450 race!  We know we didn't win, but we may have been in the top 3 fastest leaf sprung trucks out there!

Hey FGR, quick question I noticed in the video Josh posted of the 1450 race, looked like the truck only had a problem with the deep sand.
otherwise, from the video... that truck seems to handle and perform pretty well.

great josh guys!
Josh keeps me informed of you guys constantly!

What a great video :beerchug:

There was a complete race track out there afterall.
Being my first rodeo, I thought Jason and Paul were just taking turns driving out into the desert and spinning dognuts in the mud.
At least that's what I remember Keven or Matt (I mean Josh) telling me.

Leaf spring trucks kick ass!

Hey Marlin.. It was good to see you again!! It's been too long! sorry about the trick "what color is my truck" question! hehe!

Marlin

Thanks for the shout Runnerguy.

I hate to admit it, but I had you in a pick up, not a upper class Runner.
I guess I still had yellow on my mind.
It was great meeting the better half as well after all these years.

Somehow, you need to figure out a way to get some Honda parts on that go fast truck!

After talking with Angelo. I decided to post in this forum. I wanted to chime in on how good the Marlin 2wd transmision is. I race in the 1400 sportsman Pro class. For those who dont know what this is. Its a unlimited motor and suspension class with a steel cab.

We will be racing the mint 400

Here are the current specs on the truck
93 Toyota pickup
22re turbo with 350 hp
Marlin crawler 2wd r150 tranny
Peter Built chassis
truck pulls 16" travel in the front with 26" travel in the rear

Marlin

boosten22re,

Looks great,

I recall seeing you two times and then you were gone.
Other guys in the pits also commented on seeing multiple turtle stickers on the track.
I apologize for not taking the time to look you up as well.
After rear ending the Ford, were you able to finish the race?

Please post some picts of the 22R power plant.

Thanks, Marlin
