22RE charge problem :(
« on: Oct 07, 2007, 06:16:59 PM »
my buddy has a 22re problem and asked me to post it up here, the alternator seems to not be charging the alternators been replaced twice and had it tested twice, the voltage regulator passed testing, tested continuity between the positive lead on alternator and postive on battery and in showed continuity, replaced wire going from alternator to battery and still no charge, put volt meter to +terminal on alternator and it showed no charge do you guys have any idea of what it could be :dunno: were pretty much stuck and were trying to get this thing running  :driving:

88 22RE IN AN 83 PICKUP.   It's an O'reillys alternator.  Have checked all the grounds and seem to be good.  I'm perplexed.

Pablo,   pull the  plug  off the back of the alt,  there  should be a 2 wire plug
using a jumper wire  put juice to the  plug in the alt,  if it starts  charging  your wires  between the alt  and the ignition ie  charger relay  is bad
