Actually, riding on air is quite nice. Both my truck and this one ride on just the air bags.  My truck rides like a damn race car. The suspension is firm and reacts very quickly. This one will be a little bouncy, but will ride smooth like a Cadillac. It has no shocks due to the amount of lift the customer wanted. The Mazda has a 3:1 ratio, and the bags get 8" of lift on their own. So its capable of about 24" of lift. My shop compressor will only put about 80 PSI in the tank to work with, and that gets it up to 12" of lift (not pictured). And the bags are capable of holding 400 PSI (he wants to hop it...  :dunno:) but 200 PSI would probably allot the full 24" of lift. There was no where to put shocks on this setup that would travel that far, so he opted not to run any.
sweet...glad your sharin this stuff with the wheelers man...dont feel too left out, i own 2 lowered cars as well ;)

I'll see if I can find pictures of the Blazer I had. It was huge. I built it with my uncle when I was about 15. I'd still have it if I didn't get so many tickets in it, and if it passed smog with the 350 in it...

Yes I found one! This is after the house burnt down and the grill got melted. It didn't run here, but it was once driveable when the laws in CA were not so strict. Its sitting away somewhere now, and I'd love to get it back someday...

Yes its stupid big, but it was so much fun to drive. I need to stop going overkill on all my projects.

Right on, its not too often you see little s10 blazers with a stance like that. Might drop it down a few inches but overall I like it

What all did you do to the Blazer?

Yeah its all 1 ton drivetrain. It was once a 2WD truck. Cut off the upper control arm mounts to make room for the headers. Had a 350 and a 205. Was assembled from mostly stuff my uncle had laying around. The tires were takeoffs from a HUGE Ford he did that came in for new tires.

you should give the axles to dan

Twisted Minis

I don't have it anymore. CA laws state it unsafe due to size, and no mudlfaps, illegal motor, etc. So its sitting in some guys field.

when you get tired of being an inch off the ground, you could make your 1st gen into a 4x4 :cheese:

BUDDERS

for a lsd rearend, all you need is a rear diff out of a '83-85 supra (if you still have a toyota 7.5 inch straigh axle, I cant remember).  The carrier and all that is in it are all the peices you need, well that and probably a pinion crush sleave.

I'll look into that, I have a 7.5 axle. I hate when I lay it on the ground and only one tires spins, lol.

My pinion didnt have a crush sleeve, just a spacer and shims and you have to preload the bearing properly..

Made a shift knob (now I just need to make the shifter) and got the guages and switches all in the dash. Looks almost factory. I like it.

Also FINALLY got my welder parts so I can weld again. So I started the front. The driver side is done minus plating and shock mounts.

I hate overhead welding..

those welds look good for being overhead

I kinda thought they looked good for just being welds. Lol. At least the ones against the frame.

just out of curiosity, what did you kill in your welder?

The gun and leader hose. For some reason it would not flow gas. I replaced every replaceable part in it, and the gas purge valve and still had the problem. Miller did no treimburse me for that, but they had no problem jerking me around for a month and lieing to me about getting me a new hose. It was sweet. I had to go back and forth between them and the place I bought it from for a week before I could even get them to decide they were going to send me new parts.

The dash looks sweet but I would like to see the whole thing  I have a truck you can build, 81 that I'll sell you for $500, it's not in the DMV system no more so there are no fees. Also in post #111, I see a PG&E truck, is it yours?

If I called the cops, they wouldn't come. Thats how cool Windsor is. We called about our neighbors having 13 cars, that took up an entire block, and 10 of them never moved. The cops never came, so we called again, a few weeks apart, several times. No results. We finally called a scrap yard and asked them to come out, and the owners did something with the vehicles pretty quickly after those guys showed up. We also called once about some threats that were made against myself from a UFC fighter, over a bike I built (long story, ended up with a restraining order). And nothing was done by the police. But when we make noise after 10 one night, they come within 15 minutes. And they now make weekly stops, and often cruise by and shine the spotlight by my garage.

I told the last cop that came by I considered it profiling. He asked of what, and I replied "gear heads." We had two lifted trucks in the driveway, my Mustang in the street, and two bagged trucks in the street and one in the gareage. That guy had a hayday with us, wiriting up all kinds of "misdemeanors." So I went to the police station to ask about it, and got everything cleared by the Sherriff who said everythign we did was likely legal, as long as we werent working on any of the vehicles that were on the street, and that the cop that wrote everything was still in training.

So the fronts done. I'm just waiting on my friend to drop off the single port bags, since the dual ports won't fit.

Got the inner fender trimmed on the driver side. With the tire on it will lay flat, plus 1/8" without rubbing anything.

I chose not to cut out the entire inner fender because it looks cleaner, I think, for right now. Until it gets bodydropped. Now it looks like the tire is touching but there is about a 3/8" gap all around. But I'm going to trim it out to about 3/4" clearance everywhere, just to be safe.

Wow that front end tucks good.  I kinda like the trailer fender look in the engine compartment too.  I know a lot of guys are doing that, but it looks, super clean, just a lot more work...

Yeah I did trailer fenders in my truck. I'm not being paid enough to do them on this truck. I gotta cut the other side and do the exhaust then I can set it down for real. And I get the fenders and bed this weekend.

When is your truck supposed to be done at the bodyshop?
