Got some more parts in from SKYS http://www.sky-manufacturing.com/

Front IFS hub wheel spacer kit... $200.00 :yikes: but :dunno: it's the way to go to make the front end as wide as the back end legally  :disturbed:

Also the  rear shock hoop which was only $60.00 but saved me some time.  This stuff looks of good quality and got here pretty fast, only about a week.  My dads comming home tonight so i'll finally get to take some decent pictures

Oh and the Aussie is on the way too so the truck should be comming along pretty quick now.

Jud

This looks like a nice build. and that rear shock hoop is a nice piece! I'm running the same one and love it!

haha i beat you to the punch.. well runny was  :flamer: the driver side shock mount while i was cutting the other off with a hand grinder... well i got it all done and switched to a grinding wheel to clean it up and i managed to hit my finger and knuckle.... its about a inch long quarter inch wide and upon further inspection you can see where it actually hit my bone! oh well it'll be good in no time, i just thought how i wrapped it was funny so heres a pic. oh and everyone wanted me to get stitches but on a holiday at 9:30 at night that would be pricey ecspecially with no insurance. have a good day reda.

Fearofrunner

well since not a toy already explained what happened i will go continue with the picture

Cutting the shock hope off,.

This is why you leave the wheel guard on the grinder

Thanks again for the help man, sorry about the finger though.  :usa:

Fearofrunner

The good news is though i got alot done this weekend and the aussie showed up  :bounce:

The back is pretty much done now

Found a better way to put on the pressurised bilinstens. Just leave the green strap attached to the shock and they pretty much slid right on.

just a little comparison of marlins lift VS stock.  I cant see how they consider this a 5 inch lift  :headscratch:

then got to work on the front end, which was alot easier then the back for some reason, maybe because i wasn't as conservative with parts.

the 91 i'm drivin now, it's a good little truck with a tight 3.0

My dads midlife crises toy :talkingn: 94 acura integra GSR, another fun car to drive

Power steering box

I've always heard people say just to cut the old box off, and once i got in there i could see why.

A little add on to make things easier that i read about a while ago.  The square bolt on the front axle knuckles where you fill them with grease, just drill, tap and put a grease Zerk on there and you can pump a little in when doing your tune up.

That's about how my back shocks are angled and they are bottoming out.  I need to put the tops closer together, like 2 inches or less separation between the tops of the shocks.  Don't be surprised if that shock hoop doesn't work out real well.  Sorry bro.

Do you have the 12 inch or the ten inch back there?

Volcom

12".  I should have gone with the 10's and mounted them more upright.  I will probably end up cutting two holes in the cab and running the shocks into the cab later.  More work but should be worth it.

i got a set of 12 and a set of 10" in the kit,  So if these bottom out then I'll try the 10's in there, the 10"s just seemed to be compressed out a long ways and they didn't have as much travel.  But you also got to remember that i have that one inch tube so that might prevent them from bottoming out

I haven't had any trouble bottoming out on the shocks with the same set up. :dunno: Now keep in mind I have the 4" MC rears so maybe I have the 10" shocks. :dunno: I do bottom out on my bumpstops in the rough stuff at high speed. :driving:

The build is looking good. 8)

Yeah i got some work done today hope this helps.

Got the front spring hanger all centered and flush with the existing crossmember.

Put the springs on just to see how it looks, Shackle angel is kinda steep but there is no weight on them to truly tell, so i'll just leave the front spotted for now and check everything later when it's on the ground.

pulled the front knuckles and axles out, this is a comparison shot of what the solid axle hubs (on the right) vs the IFS hubs (on the left) that came from an 87 4runner.  You can use any hubs from 86-95 pickup of 4runner if your doing the front widening kit like i am.

Always have a ton of rags handy when doing anything with the knuckles cause they are messy.

axle housing prepped and ready to cut off the old brackets that will no longer be used.

Getting ready to weld the caps on steering bump stops

finished for the night  :beerchug:

What els do you need from the ifs Toyota to finish the widening kit? I plan on doing the same thing to my toy :yesnod:

Fearofrunner

well if you haven't done it yet, get the calipers and master cylinder off.  But besides that nothing else is needed.  I'm putting the bearings and races from the old hubs into the new hubs because they are still new from last year.  Don't keep the hubs off the ifs truck cause you can't use them, but the hubs that are on the solid axle will bolt right up.

Now's the time for some knuckle gussets if you were thinking about adding them.

Nice!  You will have to grind them before installing them.  Just a heads up before you burn them on.  I'll have to see if I can't find the picture that shows where to grind.  After welding mine on, I still had to take an angle grinder to them since the knuckle and all the stuff on the backside of it was hitting the gusset when I turned the wheel.

I have the picture on my computer here at work.  I can't FTP up and post it.  Shoot me a PM with your email address and I'll email it to you.  I did weld them to the ball of the axle but if you grind them before, you will have major gusset to knuckle contact.
