redneckcountrygirl4

haha well then i gotta find a good one ifn ima gunna get a toyota...im not sure what year i wanna get yet....any suggestions?

boggerunner

get an 85 solid axle extra cab with a 22re sr5, or an 86 turbo and sas it, and welcome to marlin

Duffil

depends. Do you want a solid axle? If so, 79-85.  If you are taller, you might want a 2nd or 3rd gen.  the first gens (79-83) can be a little cramped inside, and the 3rd gens(89-95) are the roomiest.

redneckcountrygirl4

well im 5'2" haha...im basically looking for a lifted truck that gets good gas milage and is in good shape....i've beenlooking for a while actually...i also only like standard cab and reg bed....i dont really care for the ex cab and long beds....i know im short but i want a pretty good lift...but i guess it al depends on the truck im lookin at

Duffil

last time I was in sonora, there was a 3 or 4 inch lifted first gen on the side of Mono Way... dunno if it's still there, though.

redneckcountrygirl4

nope ima thinkin its no there....well i haven't seen it haha

boggerunner

ive got a first gen and a 3rd gen, i fit better in the 3rd gen and its alot more comftorable, but i can wheel the 1st gen alot harder,  so if you want a hardcore wheeler get a solid axle 79-85, and if u want  luxary, getb an 89-94

Your choices are varied as to what you want, it all depends on what you want in a 4x4. If you want to be able to go topless :wink2: you'll have to go with a utility vehicle like a Cruiser, Samurai, Jeep, etc, etc. If you want a truck your choices are few in the mini's but fullsize trucks are plentiful. Most will tell you that the cheapest to build is a Samurai but I disagree in a bang for your buck way. I've built everything from Willys to Toyota to fullsize and the cheapest and easiest to maintain is without a doubt the Toyota truck/4Runner platform. Sure the parts cost a little more than a Sammi's but to make a Sammi a capable rig you end up having to do more to it to get to the level a Toyota is already at. With a Toyota all you'll need to get playing with the boys is a minor three to 4 inch lift, rims, 33 inch tires and a couple lockers. You'll be ready to go with a simple setup that can grow with you as you become more and more involved.

Don't get a Chevy, then you'll look like those lame ass "Mudslingers" up there.
Just cruise Walmart and see what they have. I always see a Toy or 2 there.
Also, check the side of the road in Jamestown. I remember seeing a white 82 there.
