Yup if you hadent guessed yet I didnt get my cage installed so I just gave up on competing, come to find out not only did I NOT need a cage but I also did NOT need to finish my winchplate!  So I could mount the winch on it.  Needless to say I was not the happiest guy at the event when I found out the news that after working my A$$ off for 3 month I got shot down because of the rules page never being updated!  Hell ShawnB was a course judge and he was given a even older set of rules than what is posted on the Calcrocs website!  But it was a fun time for all and I got to meet a lot of people from this board and others, thanx for the good time!

Ive got another 12 months before Goldendale rolls around again so just imagine what Ill get done before then!

Why thank you for the comment redroller.  Jared the rear is welded as of now with *gulp* 3.90's!  But its kinda weird, it does really well on the highway, granted 5th is there just for looks but it hauls some serious butt with 35's!  Ill be pulling the whole front axle out and trading it for the one in my 84 beings it has longs and the cruiser brakes along with 4.10's, Ill also put 4.10's back in the rear too of course.

If I had the ambition I would do it myself.  I have the parts just sitting here collecting dust.  I just dont think that I need it really, my brakes work awesome as is.

From what I have seen here WT you not lacking the ambitoin    So where in the next closest CalRocs event to you ? any chance of you makeing that one, or was your truck that far out of regulation ?

All that my truck would have needed was a e-brake, a master kill switch for the electrical and a locker up front and its legal.  But according to the rules I needed a cage, winch, 4 point harness, dual extinguishers etc.  The rules are what killed the whole thing they havent been updated and they included stuff that has never been required in the mod stock class, ever.

You can buy the caliper brackets from sky.  The rotors and calipers Id just get from a local parts house.  Youll need the calipers from either a 78+ caddy (rwd) or a monte carloe of the same vintage if you dont want a e-brake.  The rotors are from a 88+ chevy 4x with the light duyt rotors.  They made a heay duty rotor but it is too thick for the caliper.  For gears Id just leave whatever you have, Ive got 3.90's in my truck now and it really doesnt do too bad at all.

He was disapointed that I'm doing the family thing this weekend and not going up Little Nache's. He'll have to wait to get smoked again.I can't wait untill we get some snow. You'll be amazed at how well you gumbo's do in the snow.
