Hi folks...this is the "Evil Sister" I just want to thank you and tell you how proud we are that Glen and, us too,  have such wonderful friends. You guys ( & girls ) are what the meaning of friends should be in a dictionary. I know you have all been in Glen's  heart and let me say that you are deeply in mine and Our Mom's. It is hard to loose someone....but your Dad....especially one as good and sweet as our Dad is something terrible, but we all have an Angel now....and you can bet that now that arthritis isn't making him hurt that he is out there exploring some road, just to see where it goes. God Bless you all.

I called the funeral home today from work but with the time shift they had already closed.   Should I call them again tomorrow or what is the approach now (cant use paypal)?

Please reply on this board coz I cant check email from work.

I am sorry for Glen's loss but am happy to see that there are people willing to help.  It seems often its the ones who have little themselfes who are willing to help out.

Will do my part.

OK now  you've gone and made me cry  :rivers:  seriously ! as I left work yesterday I read a passage in my daily inspirational pocket book and this was the passage

  YOUR NEIGHBOR
Do you love your neighbor?
do you hold him dear?
Do you try your best
To let him know you're near...
Near enough to reach out
And show him he is loved,
Just as your dear Father
Shows you from above?
Our dear, heavenly Father
Wants us to obey
And to reach out and love each one
We meet along the way.
Thank You for showing me
How to love each day.
Please give me the wisdom
To do Your will, I pray.

  Dona M. Maroney

Anyone know what the current amount still outstanding is? melinda? You out there? I have another $100 paypal donation, I'm waiting to see if I get more before I mail a check.

I know most people will either be calling or mailling their checks and money orders directly now, but if you're lazy like me and would rather do everything online you can still PM me for my paypal info and I'll be getting one check in the mail in another week.

Keep up the great work

You know, it is incredible how a great group like the folks on this board have banded together for a good cause!! Glen has contributed so much to this board, and without a thought, many people who have never even met geln in person are donating to him and his family in their time of need.
That is one of the great thing about the internet, you meet and get to know so many great people. Many great relationships have been formed before people even see each other, and I am sure that creates a much stronger bond.
You don't need to have met a person in person to consider them a friend, but I feel fortunate we did get to meet so many of you, including Glen and his family, last year.

   hey folks, Glen has to fix the van so we can go, anywhere, :shake:  and he said ya wanted a few stories about Dad. So here I am ...the "Evil Sister"  :slap:  I think I will start with an explaination that Daddy was old school....we knew that if he said it we better do it, he didn't repeat...at least when we were kids, and we knew that if the belt started coming off ....do it fast!! Well, the only time it came of was bedtime and whuppin's!! :moon:   So here the story begins....Once upon a time when Glen was about 6, we were all going around the back rounds picking blackberries. We started away from the house and then worked our way back. Well we had got maybe 1 -200 yards from the house and we had picked several but Daddy was getting some good ones  deeper in the bushes, the rest of us started walking on to the house, and left the car for Daddy, ( ask Glen what it was ) well Glen decided to go back to ride with Daddy, thinking he might drive no doubt  :driving:

Well meanwhile as we were walking down the hill Daddy had been getting deeper and deeper into blackberry bushes and since the berries where so big and pleantiful he decided that he could pick better with both hands, so he put the bucket handle threw his belt, and picked with both hands.

Ah ha....here comes Glen, getting closer to the car and where Daddy had went into the woods... :ack:   well Daddy was picking along , and pulls a bush, when WOW  :yikes:  there is a BEAR, well Daddy sees the cubs....sees her...and hits his hat against his leg ...   that they will run away.  Well, the cubs run off......but not Moma Bear   :chew:  she keeps eating. So Daddy thinks "I better get out of here before she gets full. ....and since he is slightly hindered with a wooden leg anyway , he wantes to move the bucket so he can run if have to...... :help:    :outtahere:

Enter stage left....little Glen....he sees Daddy unhooking his belt.... :shake_head:   he sees the BEAR  :shudder:  :yikes:   and he goes flying back down the hill   :outtahere:    :help:  yelling the whole time.  "MOMA! MOMA! DADDY'S GOING TO WHUP THE BEAR!!!!"   well we knew Daddy so here we are thinking oh lord....the bear is going to eat him   :chew:   for whuppin her   :moon:   so we start back up the hill.....when here  comes Daddy in the car.....just fine....with lots of berries.      Wow so brave      of course since then and since I am such an "Evil Sister"  :slap:   well we tease him terribly......"Daddy gonna whup the bear"       :rofl2:    :therethere:   poor thing, little brother needs help.....   :rofl2:   The End   :blah:
