I have never seen a dovetailed 4-runner before, keep up the good work
Thanks :) Along with Locktup's rig, I have probably read Chopperman's buildup a hundred times. If I didn't need a backseat and the storage ...

It was funny about this time my wife came out and asked if we had been drinking again. The other side end cap is on and I started to trim the gate tonight.

Thats when you get the best ideas!!!  :yesnod:

The neighbors sure get a laugh when I drive it on the street. They say "it sure was nice when you first bought it" :haha:

The other motivator was to try to lighten the Runner up. With the added weight of the exo, it was going to be a pig without some cutting. :meal:

There is no exo right now or for a little while. I have been trying to decide on the body. I want to cut it similar to what you are doing because, I want about 4inches more of wheel base. The wheel well is in the way. Another problem is...I want to four link the rear but the I can't seem to get around bringing the shocks through the bed floor.  I want to have a spare tire without looking like a rolling jungle gym with a tire strapped to it. I also need some form of a semi weather tight top (won't fit in the garage plus there is too much crap in there  :shake:). The wife really did not like driving without the top on...she was getting sunburned and she was worried about the dogs falling out. So I took the hard top and cut it down some. That worked for her. But I am not sure how to get the top on and cut it like that , etc., etc., etc.  So needless to say it a mess of a problem/decision.  I will do my engine swap while you do this. I get ideas from your truck.

P.S. End highjack!!

Even though I gave you a hard time about bobbing your 4Runner a few months back, I really saw the light after dragging the sheet metal around the Hammers. :hahaha: I figured if I was going to run an exo on it, I need to cut some weight to try and compensate. Although I have always carried a full sized spare, I don't know if will in the future. :headscratch: For a top, I am looking at a CanBak clone or using the top bows and hardware configuration of a Samurai and have a top stitched up. :dunno:   I'll be following your 3.4 swap closely. 8)

Hope it is OK to post a pic for you  I didn not think about it. :hammer:

No its a long story but I did not have a rig and the 100* plus forcast for JV made the prospect of just going to hang not seem worth is. Oh and there was domestic drama a bit too.
