Here is my best attempt at using Microsoft Paint to cut and paste the idea. I certainly am NOT an artist (even with a computer :gap:)

I like the guitar.  Keeps the red but makes it kinda wild.  Did you see the Bronco on the cheap on Trucks!  They did some kind of early naval camo that looked to be in the same style.  Can't remember what it was called now.

they called it Dazzle paint after an early 20th century english ordered WWI ships painted that way to try to make it more dificult to accratly judge distances for the uboat captains. stats show it worked but it may have had more to do with convoys and other measures.

that pic looks like you took it with a big fish eye lens.

The tubbed out fenders and the 26" tailgate sure distorts the view. :shhh: Someone said to me:
"It looks like a 4 Runner, but something sure is different about it"  :hahaha:

Spill it!!! :whip:
Ok. :cheese: I had to wait until Zukizzy took delivery on the latest 4Runner.  :driving: Actually it was two rigs; an 86 Runner and an 86 PU that were found on Autotrader. It should be a great project.

I believe the tentative plan is to bob it, but retain the hardtop. I guess it would look something close to this. :dunno:

The final picture is next to Brent's Runner on 37" Krawlers. :beerchug: It looks like I am going to need to make a few adjustments along the way when it is flexed. :flamer: The fronts hit the springs at full lock and the rears will either hit the front of the fender openings or the frame.  :_order:

Please let us know how you like the 40" Iroks!  I've been thinking of skipping from the 33's I have now straight to those Iroks.  How bad does it rub the frame in the rear?  My other main question is how does it drive with those big tires?  I know you trailer yours but I'd like to know if they could get you to the trail if you had to drive?

I really don't know yet. :dunno: We drove it out of the shop, flexed it on the Izzy ramp and pulled it back into the shop. :driving: I am guessing  it will take a little longer to get up to speed and the 22RE will be hating life on those freeway grades. :hahaha:

The rub on the rear frame is surprising, but that is one of the reasons why everyone swaps over to the wider 86+ rear axle (I have the narrow 85). I'll proabaly make some bump stop adjustments and see how it wheels. :king:

The other minor change I made was to dress up the beadlocks a bit. Infernal's Macho Taco has a set of OMF beadlocks out of nearby Riverside. I painted the beadlock rings red and added a set of OMF's "Rock Domes" on every other bolt. :bling:

The only problem, I bought 12 per wheel, forgetting I had 32 bolt locks. I'm back to OMF soon to pickup 16 more. :smack:

Looks great!!!   I would pull the rear axle back a few inches to get that tire out of the fender and add a little wheel base.  :)   I think there might be rear housing or two available soon. I am getting a tacoma rear end this week so my `87 axle is coming out.

There certainly is room to move the axle back a few inches, but I will need to rethink the rear shackles. Zukizzy suggested possibly doing them F-Toy style off of the face of the rear cross member.  :flamer: I will probably go with an IFS rear but I am wondering if I will still need to run spacers. My 85 rear has a set of 2" spacers now which should make it equal to stock IFS width.  :dunno:

Thanks for the offer on the axle. I'll let you know if I need it.

BTW: I think I know someone who might need a passenger side door after a night run at the Hammers. There is a certain "parts truck" that might still have the needed door in question. :king:
