As promised, here are some pictures from the weekend. We had a great time. :yesnod: Saturday we headed over to the comp at Cougar Buttes to watch the two Zukizzy teams in action. :clap2: Driving the 39s on the 247 between Means and Cougar Buttes was interesting. :driving: I could hit maybe 60 to 65, but I couldn't use 5th gear.  :therethere: Oh well, I didn't intend to drive much on the street anymore. :disturbed:

It was good to see EarlKahn and Jedrattle up at the event. Sean you should have just asked for the keys. :)

Sunday was trail time. For a warm up, we (3 rigs, 2 Runners and a flat fender Jeep) did Clawhammer in about 30 minutes. The 39s hooked up great at 4 psi. The one thing I really noticed was with my old 35 MTR's on some of the rocks, I would need a little wheel spin to heat them up before they would grab. Not with the Iroks. But as predicted, I need a wider rear axle moved back 2 inches and I need to rework my front fender tubs. There was a whole lot of rubbing going on.  Here is Claw on a PERFECT 70 degree wind free day:

So the afternoon run selected was Aftershock. I had a friend who brought out his new 07 JK Rubicon for it's virgin run. Our group grew from 3 to 6 rigs (3 Runners and 3 Jeeps). The trail should have taken a couple of hours with plenty of stops along the way, but someone had a little trouble ;):

Here are the rest of the pics from Aftershock (the batteries on the camera died :smack:). No breakage at all on the run and the JK left with a few scratches which was nice :king::

whos yellow truck!?!
My friend Howard's 84 Runner. There was a writeup done on it about 4 years ago in Petersen's. He is running a SB 350, Dana 44 front and 60 rear. There is a ton of custom one-off stuff on his rig. I bought my Runner (and so did Brent, the other Runner on the trip) after seeing his do so well at the Hammers. :yesnod:

Thanks! :)
The tubing on the bumper and sliders is 1.75. The rest of the tubing is 1.5 to hopefully save a little on weight. :chew:
I picked up all of the LED lights from Superbrightleds http://www.superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm. The front lights are actually clear taillights angled to the side and down. I like that I can leave them on all night and there is virtually no draw on the battery. I wish they were a little bit brighter. I think I can make them brighter if I can figure out how to set them to "brake on mode" as opposed to "taillight mode". Just something else to add to the list.  :_order:

Did those 39's smooth out the trail some or what? Did it feel tippy at all?

Absolutely. 8) Night and day difference from the 35s. Both the extra 2" of ground clearance and the better traction were noticeable. I was worried about the "tippy" factor with so much sidewall, but luckily I didn't have any issues. :dunno:

The one challenging obstacle on Aftershock, the waterfall near the end, was surprisingly easy. I had to take one backup to reposition, but after that it walked right up. Brent did too (37" Krawlers). But everyone under a 37" tire pulled cable. :sly:

I remember seeing it was  a wrap on your exo build but I didnt realize it was so easy to take off?  Is it just shrink wraped on?   How expensive was it??    You should do a writeup, looks like it might be a cool alternative... If it holds up well.
Life is too short!!!   Do something with it!!!

Nope. :nope: The exo did the job in the rear (although I was close up front ). Brent's Runner was keyed in a parking lot before his exo went on. The scratch is a little more noticable than paint, but from 10 feet away you can't see it.  :shhh:

I guess the best analogy is it is like wallpaper. The nice part is the shop has the entire wrap saved on a computer. If one section is damaged, he can print just that panel.  8)

As for price, I paid around $500. Remember I did not have the doors or the top wrapped (I might later). I shopped for a quote from from four or five installers in the local area. One shop quoted $2,500. :puke:
