ontherocks round 2- 1988 pickup

i got a 88 pickup the other day, so here are some stats and plans.

88 standard cab shortbed, 22re, w56, topshift case, 3in body lift, 33in mud dawgs. i already have a TG 4.70 gear kit, gettin an aussie locker for the rear, already put in a K&N and an optima redtop tuned up and all. next week comes exahust, some time befor summer comes the sas. picks comin soon, keep posted.

im gonna run 63s out back, not sure bout the front yet. just been tinkerin on it, gotta do a valve adjustment soon. the head was just done, new water pump, oil pump, and new timing set skipped forward a tooth. runs good

thanks for the support and its nice to be back. im thinkin paint, new seat or seats (i have springs pokin me in the back), valve adjustment and aussie befor it snows. then just collecting suspension. i gotta put new tires on the runner, so not a bunch will be happening befor that. oh, and i ordered a new shifter cub and ball.

went quail huntin when i got off work this morning, put it in 4wd for the first time. front and rear dont flex worth a , pasanger cv is clackin like it wants to go bye bye, but the 4.7 gears are awesome and the front diff works great, it was alternating tires the whole time i was workin the shelf tryin to find traction or brake something.

    here are some pics of the 88 pickup and one of the runner, the runner is pimp, its a 96 with a 3.4, 5spd, 4wd, magnafow exahust, k&n, and a tits system. i got my shifter parts from marlin, so im gonna rebuild that tomorrow when i get off work. i did a tune up on it also.

pickup looks like its in good shape!  I would highly suggest ditching the body lift before you really start with the build

tits, im gonna need a 3rd cause im ordering an Aussie tonight. i have been deer hunting and that pasanger cv is so shot, clackin and grinding. so, if anyone has one of those they dont want i would be glad to take it. and ya, the body lift is goin away as soon as i sas it, im just leavin it for the 33s in the snow. i got the wrong shifter cup so i sent it back and got the rite one, goin to put that in now.  and gonna have some

i got a complete 84 front axle yesterday for $175, and it has wheel spacers on it. haha, i get the clamper discount.

ur tryin to get me back for rollin your truck on your wedding day arnt ya? do you have a spare driver side knuckle? one of the calper bolts is stripped on mine, its a good spare i just dont wanna dd on it. im gonna finish takin that axle apart today, i need to find some one that wants to put in an aussie for a 12 pack. i havent ever messed with gears, but i might have to learn.
