You could get a piece of sheetmetal and roll it around a piece of pipe and slide it into the roof seperations then just weld it in, would give it a bit more refine finish.

The top on it is showing it's age.  Starting to get some tears where it rubs against the framework.  If you can, have them stich in an extra piece of material as a rub guard where it will be in contact with the framework.
Along with that you could use some thin foam pipe insulation as paddding too.

It should be ready with the new top by Friday. :bling:

BTW: I guess my hunch might have been correct.  :( The 10 day forecast on Weather.com is calling for a 40% chance of rain at the Hammers on 2-21.  :rain: Hopefully the 22nd will be clear. :crossed: :crossed: :crossed: :crossed: :crossed:

your exo-cage is sweet!  those pics of the tops are in the hot tubs in Moab? I did those once and they are a bit tough.

No problem. That is what these buildup threads are for. ;)

I'm pretty sure that is Moab. I'd like to make the pilgrimage there soon. 8)

if you have never been to moab it is the Mecca- truely a city devoted to the love of the sport- everything, even the minivans are lifted... :screwy:
i would think wuth 39s you can pretty much go just about anywhere in that thing.
i have had 33s on mine with 5.29 gears and 4:1 MC t-case for 4 years and there is not much it can not handle.
are you still running leaf springs front and back?
Bajamil!!!! and i quote, "If you speed up you will go FASTER!"

I'm really happy with the 39s. :) Its still on leafs. I will probably keep it this way until my boys get older and can drive.  :driving: They need a linked buggy.

It is registered, but I am sure if I run into the wrong cop there are plenty of questionable areas of the truck. It should be ready today so I will have some better pics to share. :)

from the looks of it, it looks like the tires are aired down.

I'm not sure on the tires, but it was a tight fit. ;)

As to vision and imagination, someone I know (also know as McGyver) came up with this (and I can provide a whole host of other examples in metal and fiberglass).  The countdown to KOH is on. I can't wait. 8)

No, What I meant was, you have an overall vision of what you want to do. You say I want a part to do this or that and I can usually figure out how to make it happen but have no vision of the overall. I must admit I rolled my eyes a bit at first when you wanted to do the super chop but as it gets closer to done I am more impressed with every step. Yours is my favorite runner by far and the reason I am building one.  Probly gonna consider a soft and hard top for mine after seeing the progress fo your soft top.

I was born in Fontucky and raised in Berdoo, so I gotta take my business back to my roots. :gap: Evans Auto is near the corner of Baseline and Sierra Way. A friend who is in the Over the Hill Gang street rod club sent me there years ago. They are the lower cost alternative to Gabe's (who recently moved from Bloomington to Berdoo).  8)

I am paying about $500 for the top in Sunbrella, which is about half what some other Redlands shop quoted me. :) I will say this, I have been really meticulous and provided them with a detailed description (including a diagram and pictures) of what I wanted with the top and my back seat. These guys are really talented, but my I can't trust my very broken Spanish to get the message across. ;)

Felix does come up with some strange ideas. :ha_ha:

I'm putting the Ham in this weekend (no I'm not cooking :meal: ) so if you need any help on Monday, I can come down to the shop. :)

The Bobbed fiberglass top is Zukizzy's rig. The wild part is the tailgate and half size tail lights.

Thanks again! 8)

I did a little bit of work on it again today. :_order: Looking at the weather forecast for the week at the Hammers it is going to be cold and rainy.  :rain: So for the first time in nearly two years, I put the fulls doors back on. As expected, the passenger side has some filament issues, but it works. Due to the exo, I cant get the doors open enough to get the bottom bolt of the top hinge in. :hammerhead: Hopefully the weather will clear by Friday and I can throw the tube doors back on. :crossed:

I also put the Ham Radio in the center console. Now I just need to figure out how it works. :headscratch:

Pics tomorrow.
