Oh crap Kathleen doesn't know I bought it yet  JK I have no Idea what to do with it. I need to keep the bed and Cab intact  but make it capable to help with recovery and as a tool rig for Comps. NO more driving to the BAM to change axles.
looks like I am in the market for some Toy parts.
Thanks

The idea with the rear suspension is not to reinvent the wheel so we "borrowed" from Big Mike   :yesnod:

We had another busy weekend. Suspension is done to include the front and rear shock mounts, Marlin's $99 rock sliders are in (you remember that sale :) ), beadlocks are done with 35" MTRs mounted.
Wayne walked me through my first disassembly of the of the knuckles :puke4: and removal of the stock birfs while he worked on the gear and locker install (cryoed 5.29s and Aussie lockers) 8) Next up are the 30 spline Longfields, diff armour and a 8" spline front drive shaft. We should be wheeling it in the next few weeks. :crossed:
More pictures to follow.

Looks good guys, ya'll do some good work :usa:

Dunno if you wanna leave those shock boots on  though, I've never had them do anything but casue problems, retain moisture, and dirt, and chunks of stuff that wouldn't stay in there otherwise.

That is the cleanest knuckle you will ever find no rust no pits like new. Nice to be working on a So Cal rig. Jim was like a pro disassembling the front now he can replace an axle on the trail, although he should never have to with the 30 spline longfeilds he is going to pu in.

Thanks

Im with CTENG on this one, the NE sucks. Its getting tough to replace clutch lines when its like 30 degrees with a 15 mph wind. Mass sucks. Nice looking rig, very clean.

Beadlocks are from http://diy4x.com/. At $65 per beadlock (combined with Summit or 4WP rockcrawler wheels) they make for great combo. They are basically the same set up Zukizzy uses on the Jeep you see in the background:

I would recomend these to anyone who is ready to weld for about an hour striaght. Just be careful. you can not put them on a reverse wheel and get the tire over the bead lock. Unless the bead ring is really small then it is possible but you can't do it with the 4wp 2.5" back space rims. they don't have enough bead ring depth.

We are getting close to being done. :)  Ok, that's not really true, because we all know our rigs are never truly "done."  Here are a couple of shots Zukizzy took outside his shop.

how much were all the bolts, washers, and nuts for the beadlocks.  The website says that the beadlock kits doesn't
come with the hardware.

30 bucks if you use grade 5 about $50 for grade 8. I have done the math and grade 5 is plenty but you can use grade 8 for the saftey margin if you feel better about it.

Sorry we did them one day trying to race the rain and get the paint dry befor we had to bring the wheels inside. didn't stop to take pics but it is easy. you just grind all the paint from the weld area and center the inner ring inside the wheel. there will be 1/8" gap all the way around. Then put 4 good tack welds evenly spaced and weld in sections till you have the whole thing welded. I have had the ring warp and break the tack welds if you try to go all the way around in one go so do it in sections. I have a good Mig but even it gets a bit hot after all four at once. I will take pics  on the next ones for you.

We worked in the shop last night to dial in the alignment, do a little trimming of the console for the range box  :_order: and we finished the rear bump stops. I even did a little welding. :flamer: Zukizzy and I even took it for a little cruise around the block a few times.  The front bump stops should be done tonight and the full "reveal" with daylight pictures should be this weekend.  So if you have skiped to the end of the thread, here are the before and after shots for now:
