probably a seal puller or cut the axle and push the out from the backside

Ramrod

oh and if you get this ready for that trip to reno ill get mine ready adn we can hit moon rocks!

kiyul4130

ya i really dont want to have to cut the ends of the housing off. i have a really long piece of wood, perfectly round and it is THE EXACT same size as a toy shaft. i slid it through from one side to the other but it looks as if i try to pound on it, its going to trip the seal. i tried once and it poked through. im by myself so its really hard. i think im going to vegas, im still not sure whats going on but ill keep you updated. im done with school friday so i can really work on my truck a lot.

oh and when i slid the wood all the way through it was easy going in from one seal to the other. im going to be so pissed if the housing isnt bent and its a trashed rim or something......

hell ya it would be. my lucks sucks. actually i dont think it could be a bent rim because it would lean in then out whenever re-parked. hey do you think you could go out and check how many of those little shims are in your axle. the ones below the steering arm to the knuckle and on the bottom of the knuckle? i want to put the right amount in.

why not just order new axle seals for $8 a piece? buy tomorrow get the day after... save time and worry about bending them/ ripping them

i think for the shims it depends on how many you want to run. mine is different then lil buddys, and my buddy matts is different from our and so on...

Ramrod

I always just put on 1 thin one and 1 thick one but in reality your supposed to stack them to get the correct bearing preload which if setup right will help fight the death wobble

so here's the most ghetto thing ive ever done to my truck. no where sells just the felts for the knuckles and mine are toast an paying $75 for a whole new kit is out of the question, heres what i did. i walked around the fabric store being the only guy in there trying to find felt. they were all so thin that i had to triple them up. i didnt get jack done today on my truck. callen shot my trunion bearing across the garage at 22mph so its done.  ::) heres some pictures of what i did that sucked. i probably shouldnt even post this cause its so lame.  :outtahere:

its seriously taken 4 days to put a damn toyota axle back together. i had to make those felts which took to long. then callen trashed my bearing so i got 10 minutes of work into it last night before i stopped and went home, i also had to write a paper. today i got a new bearing and now they dont fit in the races. so i called up marlin and asked about the sizes. sure enough they are all the same but i guess i have to change out the races cause i got nsk bearings which are nicer. so i did all that and the knuckle still sits all weird. im so pissed. i dont want to deal with this truck anymore. it should be all back together in an hr or less with power tools.
