nice job on the fender job.

Volcom your gonna have to do some seriouse cutting to the ass end of your runner to get those things to fit. You rub like crazy with the 33's on there now $Beer Chug\'n$

I found a spare tire for my Honda

It couldn't have fit any better.

Height comparison vs. my old tires. My old 33" tires only have 10-12 psi in them and are 31" tall when inflated @ 20psi. Definally a step up in tire size

It's like I'm on low-rider tires compared to these 40" Iroks

I jacked up the front end to where the big tire would probably sit. Definally gaining some ground clearance!!

Gaining about 4" on the top and 4" on the bottom

I'm not sure. My brother-in-law is bringing the other 2 to me this weekend (he picked them up for in Denver). I also need to find a shop that will mount and attempt to balance a 40" tire. I'll get some pictures of them mounted and will also document the cutting

Les Schwab or a Cooper Tire Center or any specialty tire shop will mount all the way up to big farm tractor tires.

Walmart and places like that... will NOT.

In my experience with these tires, you need to run them at a really low air pressure on the trail.

That means some sort of beadlock will be needed. It might be difficult to find a shop to mount them and/or balance a beadlock wheel.

True but bead locks you should be able to mount yourself, then you could use some sort of dynamic balancer to take care of the balancing for you!

I just did them myself and didn't bother trying to balance them.

I have heard that 4Wheel Parts will balance 40s if you use a set of Staun (sp?) internal beadlocks.

Isnt it more likely to keep the bead on a narrower rim like that because the tire will want to keep the bead pressed out reguardless of the psi?

I would do 15x10's. You will like them a lot better in the snow if you had at least 10's. I know you do some snow wheeling and you'd like them a lot better with a little wider wheel.

i like the footprint i get in the snow with the wider rim. i ran my 36in iroks on 15x10s at 5-6psi with no problems all summer long and around 4psi in the snow over break.

because the wider your wheel is the more your tire is able to flex out when its aired down. The wider you can get you tires in the snow the less you sink which lets you float on top of lots of snow. Up in Washington most everyone loves snow wheeling and guys up here run wheels as wide as 15x15's. I know it sounds crazy but they run bead locks and run around 1-2 psi. My 37x14.50x15 toyo mt's are mounted on 15x12 MT Classic II's. I usually run around 2-4 PSI in my tires. They are siped all the way across the tread to help me get better traction when the snow is heavy, wet and becomes really slick when its compacted. Snow wheeling can be a lot of fun but you have to have soft tires and not be afraid to air down. BTW I don't run beadlocks either and I've never lost a bead. Its all about the right tire/wheel combo. IROKS are awesome in the snow too.

I'm going to use the old set of wheels already on the truck (15x10 2.5" backspaced). I just didn't know what tire pressure to run them on a 10" wheel. I'm going to save my $$$ for Stauns in the future.

I think you'll like that width. Stauns would be a nice addition too. Did you replace your wheel bearings when you did your front houseing? The only reason I'm asking is because I'm assuming your using wheel spacers and with 2.5 b/s you will be puttting quite a load on your wheel bearings with the 40's.

Yeah, it got a fresh set of bearings from a Marlin rebuild kit last winter when I built the rig. The front axle probably only has 1500-2000 miles on it along with the engine

i read the review on the stauns on pirate, and they seem pretty bad ass. its a really good innovation of a beadlock. if i was more serious about super hardcore wheelin i would run them if i didnt get a regular rim mounted beadlock

just run whatever seems to work good, I wheeled most of the hammers at 8psi but dropped it down to 3 on the last day halfway through wrecking ball and it made a huge difference. these tires didnt budge at all till they were under 8 new, now they are nice and soft and flexible.

idk if he runs them or not but they inflate and stay at 50psi pushin on the bead
