Are you actually serious? How on earth are you proposing that anyone is going to 'take your guns'.  No offense, but how is that not completely paranoid?
You work yourself up with stuff that is just totally out of the realm. Left or right, this is still the US. It is not up to a party, or 'the Dems' to revoke an amendment, as we both know.
Please tell me how you actually envision this taking place. Again, I am not trying to troll you, just give me a workable and realistic scenario. Taking into account that people like me, who are politically as far away from the trump right wing bull crap as you could imagine, would also never give up their guns.

Paranoia... well I'm not delusional, but I am very concerned about what I'm witnessing taking place today in America, and my remaining years on this Earth.

I find it extremely difficult to imagine what is possible.

You say we are living in a bubble. You continue to demonstrate how ignorant you are of the facts and truth.  Michael Huemer has accurately described you. NO PROOF??  The proof has been known and written about for decades.

Glenn Beck accurately predicted what is happening right now about 12 years ago.  Do you read books?  How do you get your current event and news?

If I presented you a ream of data and proof, or 100 hours of recorded video, you still will be in denial and reject whatever you are obviously NOT seeing. You and your blatent ignorance is why the radical socialists are now able to do what they are doing.  It is very difficult for me to imagine how anyone with an average I.Q. and cognitive level can be so isolated from reality in America and still living a common life!  At this point, I do not believe you can be convinced of any reality.  A reality check for you is not possible.  Although you, and others like you, are my enemy, in a way I feel sorry for you.

Regarding whether or not the DS (Democrat Socialists, Deep State, or Dark Side) can take your guns has nothing to do with our Constitution and 2nd Amendment. They have already shredded our Constitution and nearly every State and Federal laws.  Did you read Mark Levin's book “The Liberty Amendments”?   Mark Levin is one the most knowledge people on the planet in Constitutional Law.

Ann Coulter has written multiple best sellers on the subject describing your type.

I suspect that you have not read Glenn Beck’s book “Liars” - the most shocking book I have ever read.  I have read nearly every popular book published by those 3 conservative authors.

Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter, and Mark Levin, along with authors like Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Christopher Caldwell, Peter Schweizer, David Limbaugh – and the list goes on - have documented and published an astounding, and for me, a shocking revelation of facts and truth.

My sources of my knowledge goes way beyond reading books by best-selling authors.  Since you believe I’m a fake and a braggart, I am NOT going to tell you that there are 5 self-made millionaires in my family. Also in my family….multiple PhDs, several medical and clinical research scientists, several many years in nursing and dentistry, 1 cardiologist, a retired world-class scientist for one of largest pharmaceutical development companies in the world.

Oh yeah… two high level D.C. attorneys, 1 retired United States Air Force Major, 2 retired United States Army Full Bird Colonels.  There’s more that I can brag about, but I made all this up anyway… it’s all male bovine feces to you, just like what is really happening to our society.

Hell its about the first right now.
We have a current sitting elected president for 10 more days, however the media, Politicians, internet ect have stopped him from being able to address the people in any way!!!
We are totally cut off, WTF
WHAT ARE WE LIVING IN??????

Ok lets say he is what the media has portrayed him to be, that still isn't reason to stop HIS and OUR first amendment!! PERIOD
Now lets get back to reality.   Why do they not him being able to address the American people????

It all started with all this PC bull crap

This country is broken, there is two sides, the big Cities  and everyone else
The more illiegs they can bring in the bigger the big cities are.

We are broken
blacks vs whites
straights vs gays
Left vs Right
masks vs no masks
vaccers vs no vaccers
big cities vs small towns
states vs states
house holds are being broken due to politics

we have NEVER been this broken

Nobody likes big government and we used to could all agree that term limits and stopping overreach  should apply
however now we don't see eye to eye, how magical

As anyone can tell by my short bursts of rants Im not letting it totally control my life.
My life is still good, I make good money, own my own home at 36, own a business, my wife is hot, got a wonderfull daughter, we are all healthy.
The USA is still great but like a big fancy expensive boat, to many holes after time and it will eventually sink.

I don't think it's too far fetched to think we will see more restrictions and a gradual erosion to something like a mandatory buy back or most or all firearms.  Other nations have done it.  Many of our democrat politicians talk about it all the time and an entire generation is convinced that guns kill people instead of people killing people.  I get my "holy crap" gun control paranoia experiences from hearing statements directly from Democrat politicians, not from right wing rhetoric.

This new batch of uninformed and indifferent voters is going to be a dusy.  My kid is 18 and he voted this year.  He is a super capitalist republican, even scares me. The very few of his fiends that vote, most didn't care, they voted democrat, not because they thought it was the right thing, but because they want UBI.

We are learning to be proficient with black powder rifles in case we loose the right to use more modern firearms.  For my family most of our protein is from what we can hunt and kill.  I think any an would focus on assault style weapons but other nations have gone much further.  Never had much use for handguns but we are learning cap and ball revolvers to normalize open carry around here and for personal defense.

I can certainly relate partially with you that. There really is nothing better than game, from rabbit to deer, to elk, and all the birds.... Right now we have 2 bacon wrapped pheasants on the stove.

The First Amendment is about CONGRESS not limiting free speech. It has absolute zero and zilch to do with private companies or entities. The First Amendment does not say 'Every shitbag can say whatever they want wherever they want'. If a person violates Twitter/Faceboof/Whatever policies, the company has a right to ban them, just as they did.

And claiming Trump cannot address the people is laughable. What did presidents before Twitter do? Prepare a speech and hold it. Every network will cover it. So quit your whining, Trump can reach everyone he choses to.

And your cringeworthy bragging continues. BTW, you forgot about the 7 Nobel Prices your family spawned!

It is completely irrelevant what you are, what your relatives are, and if I believe it or not. Utterly irrelevant. I look at what I read, and that's it.
And what I see is a list of far right wing authors that you chose to consume. Listing Ann Coulter as a serious author is simply a joke. She lies almost as much as Trump. If these are your sources, I am not surprised you are stuck in the bottom drawer of conspiracy theories. Let me guess, you still think pizzagate was real, correct?

Here… let me help you add more wisdom to your insightful genius on the First Amendment….

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Supreme_Court_cases_involving_the_First_Amendment

Your comment: “The First Amendment does not say 'Every shitbag can say whatever they want wherever they want'.  Again, shows your ignorance of our Bill of Rights.  Actually, the First Amendment virtually and practically says exactly that!

Who I am, my heritage, my family is absolutely relevant!  We are irredeemable, deplorables, that cling to our Bibles, and carry guns – Patriots, every single one of us who, like so many of the 70+ million Trump supporters, are mostly middle-class citizens who have worked hard, paid their taxes, educated themselves, and in some cases came from poverty to create a good life in the greatest society in history.

I did forget to mention that Trump has been nominated for 4 Nobel Prizes.  Considering his a fake, a phony, and a fraud, what he has done for world peace must be fake news.

Again… your comment that claiming “Trump cannot address the people is laughable” shows you have not been reading, watching, or listening to the news. The level censorship to Trump, his family, and his supporters is so bizarre even the fake news media cannot explain it!

I am at the end of my time discussing your ignorance.  You are probably a living example of the other 51%ers that I spoke about in 2008 when Obama appeared to later become the worst President in US history.  Trump will go down as the greatest American President in modern times.  The Biden/Harris administration will go down in flames and will be known as the most corrupt and anti-American Presidency in United States of America history.

You need come out from the rock you are living under, pull your head out of your anal cavity, open your mind to a new reality, educate yourself, then you might be saved from your sad life of oblivion.

Or not….

If we were to meet on a 4-wheel drive trail, never had discussed politics, and knew nothing about each other, we probably would have a great time sitting around the campfire discussing our 4-wheeling adventures, Toyotas and Land Crushers. :gap:

You say that you read…  What do you read?

Here… let me help you add more wisdom to your insightful genius on the First Amendment….

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_Supreme_Court_cases_involving_the_First_Amendment

If  you would go read those cases, you would see that they are almost all about "Can GOVERNMENT tell private individuals or corporations what to say or not say" Not about "Can an online platform moderate its content as it sees fit". The most relevant cases in that list involve internet and broadcast media. These were:

Internet:
Reno v. American Civil Liberties Union
Ashcroft v. American Civil Liberties Union
Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition

Broadcast media:
Red Lion Broadcasting Co. v. FCC
CBS v. Democratic National Committee
FCC v. League of Women Voters of California
FCC v. Pacifica Foundation
Turner Broadcasting v. FCC

Only two of these cases, CBS v. Democratic National Comittee and FCC v. League of Women Voters of California, involved a broadcasting entity attempting to restrict or editorialize the content they broadcast. In both cases, the supreme court ruled that those attempts by the broadcast entities to restrict the content they broadcast did not violate the first amendment.

Suppose we now look at the writing of a legal scholar who believes that major online platforms should not have the power to limit or censor speech:
https://www.americanbar.org/groups/crsj/publications/human_rights_magazine_home/the-ongoing-challenge-to-define-free-speech/in-the-age-of-socia-media-first-amendment/

The author of the above-linked opinion says the following:
The First Amendment only limits governmental actors—federal, state, and local—but there are good reasons why this should be changed. Certain powerful private entities—particularly social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and others—can limit, control, and censor speech as much or more than governmental entities. (Emphasis mine)

I found the whole opinion well worth reading.

And, finally, have a look at the following cases where courts upheld the legal standing of online platforms to censor or regulate their content however they please:

Nyabwa v. Facebook
Rundus v. City of Dallas.

As a final word: I think Facebook, Twitter, Google, and Youtube have become so pervasive that they should be subject to first amendment provisions and not be able to censor content simply because their editors disagree with it. But as the law stands they can and they do, and the government cannot legally stop them.

We have gradually given social media total control over our communication.  This is our own fault really.  I refused to be on facebook and all that years ago.  Over time we never knew what was going on even locally because no one will communicate any other way.  Unfortunately wat has happened is exactly what I thought would happen.

It is not government censorship but we have given it so much power in our lives it might as well be.  I think the tough part is that social media and main stream media is right in line with the left side of things.  If these platforms were not so biased in one direction we would not be having this particular conversation.

I think an actual free speech platform would benefit everyone.

What you are stating is so blatantly absurd, I actually do not believe you think this way.

Let me give you a simple example: If I repeatedly violate the rules of the Marlin Forum and get kicked off, do you actually think I have the right under the first amendment to have my privileges reinstated? Simple question, right?

Answer me this, why is not anyone suing Twitter for kicking Trump off, if it is such a clear cut violation of the first amendment as you state?

There isn't a legal difference between getting kicked off Marlin or getting kicked off twitter, but Marlin doesn't steer the direction of world events and opinions.  So there is a practical difference.  If the only news you can get is one set of opinions and speech is filtered to one direction this is a problem in reality, whether it's legal or not.

The point is however, that the first amendment does not prevent censorship by a private entity, when that entitie's rules (which one agrees to abide by when joining) are violated.

And if Trump used the powers of the presidency to give a speech in the Rose Garden, or from the Oval Office, every news station would carry it, so he could reach any US citizen he wants to reach.

I always thought it was stupid and inappropriate that our past couple presidents used things like twitter to communicate with the nation.  To be fair they probably did because the entire society has been duped into communicating almost exclusively that way.

The point, is that the people, distracted by their all day suckers and dopamine fixes have given big tech he opportunity to control their lives in a way that the soviet union or whatever overreaching regime you want to insert here, only could have dreamed of.  We have essentially given up our rights, not by or because of law, but voluntarily in trade for cool ways to post selfies and the ability to fight with each other anonymously from a distance instead of to each others faces where we can be held accountable.  And media/big tech being aligned with one side of politics, they have risen to the occasion and are now enjoying that level of control and influence.  The fear is that with this kind of bias in information one side of the political spectrum can carry on unchecked.

I would feel the same way if the this whole thing was slanted the other way.   Politicians are corrupt from all angles. That kind of control is not healthy and will probably result in either civil unrest or a loss of rights, or both.  At the very least ours will be a nation of uninformed zombie idiots who believe everything that is spoon fed to them.

We have given control to an unelected ruling class.  Information is power. Mark my words this will get worse and the table will turn in some unforeseeable way that people from all walks, political leanings and creeds will be effected.  I'm sure it won't look like what any of us right wing wackos think, but it will happen.

Fully agree with you.
I actually managed to stay away from Facebook and never had an account, and it made my life better. There is little more ridiculous than the people that complain about these companies knowing everything about them, after they volunteered it all previously.
But then again, I have a WhatsApp account, and WA belongs to Facebook...so there is no easy escaping.

At least WhatsApp has end-to-end encryption that means Facebook can't read all your messages as they pass through it's servers. Not that it's 100% secure from prying eyes or anything close, but more secure than plaintext SMS or posting the intimate details of your private life in plaintext for all to see. I never got much utility out of FB beyond a couple good deals on Marketplace, but have found WhatsApp quite useful. Meanwhile for my work I have a phone that is open to the prying eyes and questionable motives of Google, so as Jan84HJ60 said escaping is hard.

While we're reccomending books, I would suggest Data and Goliath by Bruce Schneier. Scary stuff indeed, regardless of your political views.

My son just got a message that you can't hashtag 1984 on twitter.  We aren't on it at all now.  Somebody try it...

The Empire of Japan entered WWII by signing the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy.

Their objectives were to "establish and maintain a new order of things" in their respective world regions and spheres of influence, with Germany and Italy in Europe, and Japan in Asia.
1 year and 71 days later Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.  Ignorant of the American culture, coupled with Japan’s history of their bloody barbaric warrior ideology, falsely empowered them with a dumb-ass belief they were going to take over the United States of America.  They awakened a sleeping lion.

3 years, 8 months, and 33 days later, the United States detonated two nuclear weapons over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945, respectively. The two bombings killed between 129,000 and 226,000 people, most of whom were civilians, and remain the only use of nuclear weapons in armed conflict.

The ignorant and utterly stupid Democrats, along with those idiotic Republicans, tech companies and media morons, believe that censoring and impeaching Trump will somehow devastate him, so he is reduced to a disgraced ex-US President, and therefore no threat to their plans to “establish and maintain a new order of things”.. namely psychopathic persistence for power and greed.

Like the mistake the Empire of Japan made, so too will the Democratic party.

What will 74 million Trump supporters do in the next 1 year and 71 days?

What will the USA look like in 3 years, 8 months, and 33 days?

How many of those 74 million Trump supporters can become another Trump-like man or women with MORE power, MORE determination, and MORE guts to crush the evil that has permeated America?

That EVIL is going to get a taste of what happens when they awaken the silent majority.  They are going to get a rock to the head.

The democrats are laughing….

Goliath laughed at David, but David responded that even though Goliath had a sword and spear, he came in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel. David put a rock in his sling and swung one of the rocks at Goliath's head. The rock sank into the giant's forehead and he fell. David then picked up Goliath's sword and used it to kill Goliath.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

~ John Adams
