Watching what is happening in our country right now is making me more concerned for the safety of my family and myself than I ever imagined.

The level of radical insane behavior, violence and chaos is something out of a Hollywood horror movie!

I am glad I live in Arizona with our open carry and conceal carry laws.  At least if a radical lunatic wants to cause harm or becomes violent against a citizen, they will know that person is likely to be packing some heat.

I live in a rural area with miles of open desert in any direction from our small subdivision, but I’m getting more concerned that a roving band of ravaging BLM or Antifa crazies may decide to terrorize a housing community.

Is anyone else feeling a threat level that doesn’t seem real?

Gnarls.

Not yet, atleast in northern ca where I live.
The media is to blame for your fear, as well as to blame for what may be your fears coming to life, if you feel it go with it, its getting crazy out there.
BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!!!
It has crossed my mind of some crazies spreading up here in my neck of the woods, but if it does happen I believe we are atleast an election away, that may be the fuse...

Yesterday  we had a fire come within 1/4 mile of our house and that didn't even worry me one bit, I thought "Hell Im covered for 800k" we live next to an old dried out olive orchard that would go up like a Christmas tree in july.
So I don't scare easily, I didnt evacuate when Oroville dam was supposed to break either.

I am so sick  :reg: of watching the news on TV and seeing those psychopathic hateful anarchist morons destroying everything and anything they feel is American.  :willynilly:

I am more sick of NOT seeing our government do anything to stop them!!  :yikes: :willynilly:

S…..

I thought I was the top wordy, verbose, overbearing, snarky, and sometimes sarcastic poster here!

But I think you now have top honors.

First, I love to fork with you.  You are an easy target.  You appear to read like a smart dude…. or as one of my good friends says “you’re a fart-smucker”.

Yeah…. Yeah… Yeah… your novel was all good commentary.

Bottomline….. everyone believes what they want and make their own decisions about most things in their life.

I have studied, researched, experimented, and practiced diet (among other aspects of health like immunology, virology, pharmacology, and herbology) for about 40 years.  I am no expert except in my own body.  I ran and worked out at a gym for almost 25 years.  I don’t drink alcohol, smoke, do any illicit drugs, and take zero prescription medications.

After I lost my Mother to a rare nerve disease (of which I can have a predisposition to inherit the gene) at my young age of 25 years, I decided to educate myself on as much as I could on every aspect of my body and what I put into it.  I became very health conscious.

Fast forward to age 69…3 years ago, I decided to try a change in diet.  After doing about 3 months of research, I decided to try a strict vegan diet to see what I’d experience.  Two main reasons, one – the unethical aspects of animal food farming and the deceptive marketing of the food industry and two – I was simply curious about the health benefits or effects.  I lost 32 lbs. and my blood pressure dropped 30 points in less than 6 months.  I felt good and my physical exams and all blood and other tests were nearly perfect according to my family doctor.  The trade off to that diet is the taste of the food and research time into foods than do not contain anything from an animal.  Many of my co-workers have asked me… “How do you like the vegan diet?” My usual immediate reply is “I don’t recommend it, it sucks, and the food tastes like crap!”.  I always get a big laugh.

After 3 years, I’ve modified my diet slightly and now trying an ovo-pescatarian diet (eggs from free range cageless chickens and wild caught fish).  I’ve been on this diet for about 3 months.  The next phase of my ongoing dieting and experimenting will be a low carb, low sugar, higher good fats diet…. like the keto diet.

I know a lot of stereotypical people.

Being a stereotype is not as bad as being ignorant.

Gnarls.
What a bunch of nonsense, you were the one who was so easily triggered by my comments, even though you failed at being a vegan, you still felt it necessary to defend their absurd food cult.

Your 3yrs of being a vegan is as useful in determining the long term effects of not eating meat has on a body as a pack a day smoker for 3yrs not having any health issues indicates smoking not being harmful.  My friend, his Dad, and my cousin have 30 to 40+ years more experience of not eating meat, than you do, and all have suffered health issued attributed to their diet.  The most your experience validate is that there is little risk of health issues with a vegetarian diet in the short term.

Due to the changes you made in your diet, you have no way of knowing what caused your weight gain and high BP, it could have been one type of meat, the amount you ate, or the other animal based products you were eating.  Also, if you changed your activity level at all, you have no way of knowing if it was the change in activity level  alone or combined with the reduction of a particular food you were eating that resulted in the positive health gains.

As far as not needing any maintenance prescriptions goes, that has more to do with how you did in the genetic lottery than how you lived your life so far, it is why two siblings born a year apart can both engage in the Keith Richard's approach to life, one die of liver failure in his early 60's, the other still going strong smoking. drinking and getting high at 83.

The threat is real, and what we are seeing unfold now will continue to happen, and worsen, regardless of the outcome of the election.  The Socialists were just one election away from securing SCOTUS, and with it the nation, and will not stop until they do.  Due to how we have allowed socialism to infect and spread unchecked through out society, I don't see how we avoid another bloody civil war, and if we are to preserve what our Founders created and what our ancestors fought to preserve during the civil war, it must happen soon, otherwise, due to the 50-75% of Millennials/X gen that bow favor Socialism, the nation our Founders risked their lives to create, dies without a even a whimper.

Naahhh….. God is in control.  I don’t buy into the doom-and-gloom attitude.

There is a large silent majority of well-educated Constitution-loving patriots and Trump will win by a landslide.

The socialists and anarchists have demonstrated very dramatically why the American voting public will squash them like a rotten tomato.

The democratic-socialist party will suffer an historical defeat that they may never recover from.

A Covid-19 vaccine will be announced or released before 2021.

 GOD BLESS AMERICA

A storm is coming the question is how much is it gonna rain?

I also believe there are lots of folks out there that are proud hardworking citizens who are Constitution-loving patriots and don't participate in corrupt surveys, don't kneel, and highly respect our American Flag.

The "storm " is already here.  Tornados are extremely destructive, but they are short lived.  Soon there will be action taken to stop this insane anarchy.

True americans no matter the color of skin are watching and waiting, the last thing they want is what is needed, they all kno it.
I say lets let the other side keep going so the storm don't just go away to come back again later again and again to take a little bit at a time, (death by a thousand cuts)
Americans will only stay on the couch for so long, it will be when they are all affected personally at a upfront level.
the question is when is enough enough?

Sure, tornados are short lived, but this "storm" has been brewing for a hundred years and has steadily gained momentum. It is long from over.

The list of things you cannot change in people is long, hatred being close to the top of the list. Fuel that hatred with opposing hatred and watch the sparks start a fire, a fire that is fueled by hatred.

No, it's not a storm, it's a small flame that is growing into an out of control conflagration. This is still just the beginning.
Brought to you by the WBC (World Billionaire's Club) because money is a bad thing. Let us carry that burden for you.

Sure it'll fit........ Just needs a little brute finesse.

deucie… I agree this progressive-socialist pot has been simmering for a long time and now it just boiled over using race as an excuse to promote the greater evil.

I hope you are wrong about how bad it may get.  But at this point, not much else that happens will surprise me.

I just saw on the news a couple in St. Louis living in a gated community were threatened with great bodily harm and death, and threatened to kill the dog and burn down their home, by a radical gang of violent anarchists!  :yikes:

Luckily they had weapons and had to brandish them in order to stop the gang and prevent being killed!

Holy crap!  This is exactly what I said I was concerned about way back 20 years ago!.... roving gangs of extremely violent psychopathic radicals going into subdivisions and family neighborhoods ravaging everything in sight!!  :yikes:

So yesterday, after weeks of chaos, destruction, and killings, the domestic terrorists decided Durkan's house would be a good place to terrorize, THEN she decided to do something.  I guess a "summer of love" was not so lovely!  It will take months to clean up the destruction. The authorities made 23 arrests, they should have made 523 arrests!!

The radical left anti-American democrats who support the Marxist terrorists are showing why you want to vote for them in November if you want to turn our Country into something that will never be the same again.

As we all know face masks to protect against being infected by respiratory droplets from an infected person are being worn by millions.

BUT…it is well known that viruses can enter the body through the eyes.  Research shows that the eye’s surface needs a receptor so the Covid virus and attach and enter the cells. The eye does in fact have the ACE2 receptors AND the eye’s surfaces produces an enzyme called TMPRSS2 which helps the virus enter the cell.  The level of infection through the eyes is still being researched.

So how much REAL protection does wearing a mask to cover the mouth and nose actually do without wearing eye protection?

The expert scientists have been wrong and waffled on their models, statements, facts, research, warnings and recommendations.

There is corruption and deception at the highest levels of what were trusted organizations like W.H.O., CDC, and the NIH.

In the videos showing the researchers and hospital workers, they are all wearing PPE with eye protection.

So why are we NOT wearing eye protection? :dunno:

I have a full face respirator made by 3M.  P100 cartridge filters.  Not cheap, maybe 200.00  Had it for construction prior to all this(hardwood sawdust is poison).  It is rated to filter 99.7% vs. the N95 rated for 95% filtration.

Wearing a mask is only partially effective. Most people wearing masks have no clue as to the proper installation of a mask to their head. These "designer" masks are even worse as they are designed to be just a covering. Any gap allowing air to circumvent the mask is proof of poor design or improper installation. No, masks are only partially effective.

Have to take into account the claim that the virus is aerosolized as well. It's not just in the larger droplets expelled in a cough or sneeze, the virus can travel in the vapor droplets of your breath. Gaps between your face and mask and the 6 foot "social" distancing aren't as effective as you have been told. Standing in line with a good breeze blowing parallel to that line simply passes anything upwind to the people downwind reducing the effect of the 6 foot distance thing to zero.

Just a couple of thoughts.
