In my opinion things started to change when all children started getting participation trophies in sports. You should have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. outside of that you need to brush up on your skills to improve yourself or your team not just allow everyone to win! Our society wants everyone to feel special and that is not how the world works. You are the only one responsible for your actions and how you react to the world around you.

I think that the breakdown of the traditional family is another one of the main causes. All people need to realize that the world does not revolve around them. It is always give and take. People have a chip on their shoulder because someone said something that hurts their feelings or they don't agree with, tough Shi*. Get over yourself. Our government allows people to receive more benefits if it's a non-traditional home and the more children you have the more you get. I was raised by my mom and dad (they divorced in 6th grade then remarried when I was a senior in HS). They taught me right from wrong and there were consequences if I screwed up. With no one holding children responsible for their bad behavior they think they can get away with that in society. This is the reason all of the prisons are filled up with people that thought they could get away from breaking the law or better yet just get their way.

I have also noticed that over the last few decades Parents usually side with the kid. For instance. I live in a neighborhood that has HOA Dues Way higher than I care to admit... with a pier looking out over the water. Some dumbass kit decided to shoot fireworks off the wooden pier several years ago and Guess what. The SOB burned down. I go to my first HOA meeting and this Kids Dad says sure my kid was there but there were others there as well. Why should my son be responsible for this? It's simple... If your kid was doing it and the thing burns down you should be held responsible or give us the names of the others involved so we can get them to. They guy basically said if I get another letter from the HOA lawyer I will sue you. My head almost exploded. This is the entitled mentality of the children and their parents we are dealing with and it's only going to get worse from here.

There's a town 2 away from my house...They have have HOA.  You can only paint your house a certain color.  No fruit trees allowed.  No mowing lawns on Sundays.  No dogs that bark.  ETC.  I worked security in a restaurant/bar in that town and those kids that came in thought they owned the island.

Exactly! They need parents to teach them not to be entitled a holes. That mentality blows my mind.

As most of us aware people know, the US citizens have been used, abused, tortured, and manipulated for decades by the now a highly exposed corrupt government - from local to State to DC, and in practically every agency or organization that has any connection to the "government"!!
Unfortunately, that number is quite small, most don't have the time or the desire to pay the attention to what our government does and who us running it that is needed.  When they do, it is due to it being an election year, where emotions tend to drive their choice, and then it is always the other guys' guy that is the issue, and not their own.

One thing about the "silent majority" that has always aggravated me is that their, too often, silence has contributed to the downfall we are facing now.  The boomers should be outraged at what is happening and be prepared to get to their poles or mail in their ballots and vote those moronic hate-America SOBs out of everything!!
As mentioned above, you generation is still to occupied doing other things, like trying to figure out how they are going to be able to afford to retire on SS, having pissed away their income earning years after raising kids, on buying crap they didn't need or traveling to places that they should have waited to see until they were retired like their parents did.

The X-gen is caught in the same trap as the Boomers, we both let Socialism infect our society through our education system on our watch, collectively we are to blame for what is going on, and will suffer for it regardless of the outcome.

I have a question, that has been bugging me for years, for anyone who cares to comment.

What do you think is causing so many people in America, millions, to behave with such hatred and evil?

Gnarls.  :dunno:

Simply put on a macro scale, being fat, happy, and safe, due to us being the only Superpower in history for the last 65yrs, allowed us, as a society, to let all kinds of liberal nonsense to take central stage, slowly eroding who and what we were collectively, devolving us into nation of tribes, with each of us belonging to several ones at the same time, and which are often pitted against each other politically.

On a micro, scale, not a lot has changed, humans at their core are filled with what you call as hatred, it is necessary for survival, it is just that living in a group or society tempers that hate/anger due to the need of safety the group provides, again something that has been diminished over the last 50 plus years due to what we are.

What we see playing out now, on an individual level, is due to the legacy of Boomers, who for the most part, grew up in a society where they were taught a pill can fix your health issues, all you need to be successful is a 9-5 union job, you are guaranteed a better life than your parents, you can resolve all problems with enough money(think going to the moon), and of course counter culture is cool.  The seeds, first planted in/by the boomer generation at large, didn't really take root with the X-gen, due to the economic downturn of 1970's, and again in the early '90's, but due to the tech boom of the mid-late '90's, the housing bubble, and the creation of being rich and famous for doing nothing, they have certainly taken root in the Millennial and Z gens.  You now have 3 gens, one who is angry that now in their golden years, they are more likely than not to live with less than their parents as SS and Medicare don't cover their needs, coupled with two younger generations, who for the most part have been taught success and wealth is easy to come bye, and if you are poor it is someone else's fault and not your own for either poor planning or lack of effort, i.e., "Move out of the way grandma, I want my Medicare now".

What we need, is some great external threat to reunite us, where the individual puts aside his petty wants and desires for the good of the society.  9/11 showed us we could for short while, providing it doesn't get turned into a political power issue, but for long term paradigm changing results, we need another WW, on a scale that matches today's world.  Unfortunately, who we are, there are currently no contenders, or even a group of nations that could pose the level of threat needed.  Likely, the only external threat that would unite us, would be an extra terrestrial one from space, like an asteroid or comet on a collision course with earth, or as Reagan put in 1987. an "alien threat from outside this world.”

Unfortunately, w/o an external threat, and due too who we have become as a nation, we are left with a situation where the hate we have for one another, is the only thing that can reunite us as a nation, either as Socialists or as non-Socialists.  Unless of course, the purpose of the government stating that there are unidentifiable crafts flying around and Trump's Space Force, is preparing us for the pending alien invasion, or perhaps about to announce that we are making the leap to inter-stellar space travel, like the way indigenous in parts of the world went from having to draw two stick figures having sex for entertainment to streaming it live on their smart phones.

I understand how 50% of millennials can be brainwashed into believing that socialism is the answer to societal inequalities. They somehow don’t know or don’t believe the blatant history.

But… What causes a person that is highly educated and has learned the horrific history of cultures that have become a socialist, Marxist, communist, tyrannical, society and quickly devolved into violent chaos, and have killed and tortured millions of people, profoundly and so wrongly believe that ideology works for their survival.  It’s seems sadistic, self-destructive and suicidal.

43% of USA adults believe socialism is better than Capitalism!  What makes 109 million USA adults believe in something so evil?  :dunno:

Of those adults, about 85,000,000 have a 4-year degree!

So… Fox news reported that the St Louis couple are now being charged with a felony.

According to the reporting, Mrs. Mccloskey brandished a fake pistol, and Mr. Mccloskey’s AR15 was not even loaded! :yikes:

They are both stupid. :disturbed:

Our society wants everyone to feel special and that is not how the world works. You are the only one responsible for your actions and how you react to the world around you.

The "trophy for losing", is when the issue began to manifest itself in observable ways, but you can trace the beginning of it back to the 60's, with the start of giving Ritalin to unruly boys to make them more docile in class.  From there, it moved to elevating the weak above the strong, starting with pushing the practice of picking girls in class ahead of boys to answer questions, to be class class monitor, captain in PE, all under the guise of equality or fairness.  This is why so many Millennial and Z-gens phrase things regarding "fairness", i.e. "its not fair that grandma gets medicare, and I don't"

Quote
I think that the breakdown of the traditional family is another one of the main causes. All people need to realize that the world does not revolve around them. It is always give and take. Again, this is by design, and is why welfare programs from the start usually denied families with a father living in the home from aid.  The plans purposely isolated mothers and children from their fathers, women with kids were now dependent on the government for aid, and their children would learn to view the government as their provider, creating a guaranteed permanent voting pool for the party that promised they would protect them from those who seek to take their stuff away, while offering more stuff when the win.

HN

Its all about the Parents wanting to be their kids friend and not their parent, when you can't be both, until your kid is an adult.  This goes back to the '70's with hippies who believed you could talk to your kids about their bad behavior rather than spank them, i.e. they were too lazy to be parents.  Of course 50yrs later, no longer do most parents spank, but now they seek to protect them from all harm or disappointments, hovering over them at every step,m which is why as adults, Millennials are attending summer camps and daycare where they get to act like children with coloring books, snacks and nap time, which is why we see them lashing out like a children now at statues and trying to make pillow fort in cities, having realized how unfair the real world is.

I understand how 50% of millennials can be brainwashed into believing that socialism is the answer to societal inequalities. They somehow don’t know or don’t believe the blatant history.

Gnarls. :inthedark:

In order to understand how and why educated people believe in Socialism, you can't view it as a political/economic ideology, but as a religion, and like a religion, the faithful are blinded by their belief.  All Marx did was replace god with government, churches with government institutions, and preachers with teachers/professors.  The rise of Socialism in the U.S. took the same steps as all religions do, i.e., from the musings of a powerless charismatic person finding power through susceptible adults to the ideology, from there growing in numbers until it reaches the level of influence or acceptance.  For Socialism here, it languished for most of the first half of the 1900's, never getting beyond unions and and colleges, having to hide in both.  With the disaster that was McCarthyism following WWII, Socialist were freed, allowing them to express their beliefs openly in colleges as a right of free speech, starting the 2nd generation of Socialism in America.  We are now in the 3rd generation, wide acceptance due to the conditioning children have been receiving since the early '80's from school to entertainment, and even in their churches since the '90's, it is no coincidence that the current Pope is from the land of activist catholocism, and are now reaching critical mass, where we either defeat them or succumb to them, bringing on the 4th stage, i.e., the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, China, Cuba, etc.,

When it comes to belief, a person's education level has very little to do with it,  Scientology, Jonestown, Heaven's Gate, laying of hands, etc., are all examples of what educated people will fall for, all the snake oil scams from investments to gadgets are others.  it is how one is wet wired that effects what they believe in, those that are wired idealist-optimists, are the most susceptible to falling for an ideology and once immersed will not question it nor allow their ideology to be questioned, and see anyone that does as evil.  This is why the rioting, looting, and murders being committed by the "protesters" is being justified, in the minds of the Socialists, they are righteous beings fighting evil.

Leo has turned from his previous leftist rants about Trump and Republicans to now seeing the exposed truth about what is really going on and how this trend will devastate our American way of life if it is allowed to fester and grow!!

He is very vocal and impassioned.

There is a lot of people like him, who for decades ignored the threat that Socialism posed, believing that they could use the movement to achieve their goals, and Americans would never accept Socialism, what they didn't realize is they were the ones being used, and unfortunately, they have realized this too late.

Snowtoy…

I enjoy your verbose commentary.  Your descriptions and observations of what’s happening is interesting.

In early 2008 when Obama appeared, I started reading, listening and watching. I started expressing my opinion and beliefs. I quickly discovered that I was out of step with an unexpected large number of people – mostly arrogant degreed, self-absorbed pseudo-intellectuals with emphatic and condescending denial of actual facts – just exactly what I am witnessing on the news media every day!

Again, back to my question… how can so many people (basically about 50% of our population) who purport to believe in something (Marxism) so antithetical to all that is known to be good?

What has brain-washed them? Is it a combination of years of indoctrinating schools? Is it the news media?  It is Hollywood movies? Is it rap music?  Is it realistically violent video games? Is it our governments? Is it drugs? Nearly 7 in 10 Americans take prescription drugs.  It is something in the water?.. the air? …in our food?

Or is it something incredibly more profound?  I have my own theory and it’s not about food.

BUT… Since food is a favorite subject for most of us, here's some “food for thought” …

We don’t have to accept socialism, however we DO have to eat.

Is it the chemicals in our food?  Almost all juices we buy at our local supermarket are laced with a chemical called Ethyl butyrate. Like pharmacology, food is a completely different topic.

I’ll digress somewhat for those that may want to learn more about food and the chemicals in it. The taste and smell of oranges in the typical ˝ gallon carton of orange juice that millions of people consume every day is not from oranges, it is a chemical called ethyl butyrate.

Some of you may know what an MSDS is.  Material Safety Data Sheet.  Here is a perfect example of how we, the consumers, are being deceived by the food industry:
Take a few minutes to read this ONLY if you are interested in educating yourself a little bit on what goes into the food you may eat and the juices you may drink.
Please look at this Safety Data Sheet….

https://www.fishersci.com/store/msds?partNumber=AC118180050&productDescription=ETHYL+BUTYRATE+99%25+5ML&vendorId=VN00032119&countryCode=US&language=en

Read it carefully. At the beginning it states:
Recommended Use – Laboratory chemicals
Uses advised against – Food, drug, pesticides or biocidal product use.

As you read through the 7 pages, look carefully at section 11. Toxicological Information, that nowhere does it state any known toxic or carcinogenic information! Which would lead a normal person to believe it is perfectly safe - and it may well be.

“Other Adverse Effects - The toxicological properties have not been fully investigated.”  WHY?

The company – Fisher Scientific – and the food industry do not want YOU to know how toxic that chemical may be!

That’s just my opinion – it may be worthless.

It would be nice to be able to blame it on chemicals in the food or water, doing so would mean not only there is a simple solution, but that the Boomer and X gens are not culpable in the destruction of what our Founders created.  Unfortunately, it isn't, it is from the indoctrination in schools starting with the later half of Boomers through the Z-gen, and the constant conditioning of that indoctrination through the entertainment industry since the 1980's.  The increase in accepting of socialism indicates this, from just 1-2% pre-1960's to 54% or more today, and can be observed in the increase in acceptance between generations.  The Boomers went from 1-2% of previous gens to 12%, X-gen went to 24%, Millennial 54%, Z-gen an estimated 70-80%.  If it was something in the food and water, the Boomer and X gens should have a much higher acceptance then they do.  The increase in acceptance by X-gens and Millennials, also indicates that the indoctrination was not just taking place in college as with the Boomers, but in k-12, and with Millennials, much earlier or by more teachers, than with the X-gen.

Also, if was something in the food or water, it wouldn't explain why Lenin, Hitler, MAo, Castro, and Kim rose to power, when there was little food available to begin with due to the economic conditions at the time, let alone not being chemical laden like today.  These people all rose to power following some kind of social crisis, war, civil war, illness, which is why Socialists today are so active here now, they believe the economic crisis due to wuhan, and imagined calamity of the deaths it is causing, is their crisis wave to permanent power, and the rioting is to make sure the wave doesn't peak before November.

I have a question, that has been bugging me for years, for anyone who cares to comment.

What do you think is causing so many people in America, millions, to behave with such hatred and evil?

Here's a thought. Stopped off for a beer in a good old fashioned Honkytonk. Why were there people of all colors there? It is after all, a HONKYtonk.

It has been widely publicized that the decisions and actions from President Trump, his administration, the CDC, NIH, City Mayors, down to the public schools, are based on the “science” and  “data”.

There are 100’s of studies and research on science and data.  Is it surprising that about 30% of the time the "science" is wrong? Another fact, studies show that going by your gut – decision-making based upon instinct alone - is 90% accurate!

It is VERY interesting that President Trump is vilified by the media because he often disagrees with the science and data, and goes by his gut instincts.  He has been right MORE times than his expert scientists and their modeled data!

When this crap shipped in directly from overseas or trucked in illegally across the border. they can't test it.

It is also just a concern for the idiots who drink it, or find it necessary to eat with their hands after using it, and children shouldn't be using hand sanitizers anyways, by the time they get around to the hand sanitizer, the little ebola monkeys have already touched everything within reach, and have already stuffed their hands in their mouths.

I saw on the news last night that a group of psychopaths – call them whatever you want – were threatening to remove the people in their apartments and take their property and apartment for “reparations”!  This violent anarchy is worse than a Hollywood horror movie!

Here in Arizona, with open carry and no conceal carry permit required, any gang of terrorists that decide to threaten or take someone’s house or property better be well-armed and well-practiced.

Guess you missed the Dems memo on what to call theft by non whites, makes sense seeing how they called rioting/battery/murder peaceful protesting.

It was rather amusing watching some white socialist telling a black man about how he was being racist for not agreeing with them.  We are rapidly approaching Idiocracy.
