Been very happy with my NGK plugs and wires. First I've ever heard of them deteriorating.

are these the correct ones http://parts.olathetoyota.com/Toyota/4runner/9091922387/1998-year/base-trim/2-7l-l4-gas-engine/electrical-cat/ignition-system-scat/?part_name=plug-wire-set

there are a few different versions depending on year of truck. (Dist or non-Dist) Picture looks good. most likely they are correct.

They work very well until its time to remove them for spark plug replacement or some other repair requiring removal . Then they fall apart at the spark plug end.
You should buy dealer ones in the future since you get all your Toyota parts at 10% over dealer cost.  ;)

Me either.............

Although this might help.............

After every oil change I'll clean the engine with degreaser,  then spray a 50/50 mix of Armor-All/Water over everything...........
(So I wash my engine more than the outside of the truck)

Why aren't you reading your temp through the factory temp sensor?

I just don't trust them. Maybe it's the fact that for the last 30 years, I've had mechanical gauges

Toyota 4Runner Drive Cycle

A. Ensure to begin with your 4Runner having 1/4 to 3/4 tank full of gas, and after it has been sitting overnight. The engine must be cold before you begin the drive cycle. Also make sure the check engine light or MIL is not illuminated. If the check engine light is on, do not perform the drive cycle. Visit a smog check repair station for diagnosis. The check engine light must be off in order for the drive cycle to initiate.

B. Release the pressure in the fuel tank by removing and then reinstalling the gas cap. Start your 4Runner's engine and let it idle until it reaches normal operating temperature. Coolant temperature should reach 167F or above. If the temp gauge is near the center, you may continue on with performing the drive cycle.

C. Increase idle to 3000 rpm for 10 seconds. Allow the engine to return to idle, then turn on the A/C. Let the engine idle with the A/C on for 30 minutes.

D. Turn off the A/C and begin driving. Drive your 4Runner at 40 to 55 mph for 3 minutes, then decrease your speed and drive for 16 minutes, fluctuating your speed between 35 and 45 mph. It is very important that you accelerate and decelerate smoothly between 35 and 45 mph, during the 16 minutes.

E. Stop your vehicle and allow the engine to idle for 2 minutes or more. Begin driving once again. Drive your Toyota 4 Runner between 40 and 70 mph for at least 3 minutes. Be sure to maintain engine speeds between 900 and 3,200 rpm. Stop the vehicle and allow the engine to idle for 10 seconds or more. Begin driving again at 25 mph for one (1) minute. Be sure to maintain engine speed above 900 rpm. Stop the vehicle and allow the engine to idle for 10 seconds or more. Perform steps "E" ten times. This portion of the drive cycle is not easy to perform on public roadways. If you feel you are unable to perform this drive cycle safely please seek repair assistance from a Toyota certified or smog check repair certified center.

F. Drive cycle complete. If the above Toyota 4Runner Drive Cycle did not make all the emission monitors READY/COMPLETE, including the EVAP, CATALYST, O2 SENSOR, and O2 HEATER, perform drive cycle steps A through E again.

Sierra buttes, dropped into gold valley, then took several trails, went by deer lake , little deer lake, gold lake, then made our way to Joe's property . Joe has a nice chunk of land. Had my t case bind up, it was weird.it felt like a lost Clutch . when I crawled underneath it, found both front and rear shafts where locked up. It was like the force of DL being super tight, was causing the rear t case linkage to bind up.even after removing DL bolts from rear diff.two bolts had lost all threads, had to use pry bar to pull away from diff, as soon as I applied enough force, it literally freed up linkage in rear case, put it all back together, and kept going .Didn't to it again.

As far as 3rz swap, engine ran like a top. No leaks, didn't heat up. And gets great mileage on freeway.next tank of fuel, I will be calculating mpg

it's like having a bobbed longbed

I've looked into it seriously. It is easily 60 hours of metal work.

OVRAROK

do you happened to know what the wheelbase is on it, when I did sas on my 4runner, I pushed front axle forward by 1.75" iirc, I don't have typical problem with tires stuffing into firewall. I'm getting ready to push rear axle back before bob, hoping this helps with my rear departure angles

There is a couple different threads on pirate about doing it. It involves getting a donor panel from another truck. Custom wheel wells and much more.
