I think just make sure everyone is at the springs by Saturday night is the way to do it. If I go in from Loon, I'll be there about noon or 1pm, camp at/near Spider Fri night then on to the springs on Sat morning if anyone want's to hook up.

We are planning on everybody meeting up at the springs on saturday.The Talk at the shop is we are planning smaller groups to wheel in on their own. We will set up a few "groups" to be lead by members of the shop for the first time guys or out of towners who don't have a small group to go with.  We have not set times for leaveing Loon lake on Friday but we will probly have 2 or 3 departing groups lead by us. The trail is open to all but we want to try a reduce the traffic jam. If you feel good about going in by yourself or with a group of you buddies, rock on.


P.S. Dean and I are doing a friday 3:47am Bonzi run to the springs. ( Morning people only    ). There will be some secret rock light testing.

I think it depends on how you want to ride. You can either go in yourself with your own group and meet at the springs, or go with the groups that will be leaving from Loon on Friday. There will be at least one group I know of coming from the other side too.
The big thing is Sat. at the springs. That's the crux of the MCR4 fest.

Cool! Just wondering if any body was comin from the lodi area that would like to caravan?  Also lookin for someone to run the trail with. First time taken a yota past spider lake for me. I would be much happier runnen with someone who has ran the whole trail.

As it gets closer I think they will be organizing groups for when people can be there. Not everyone will be able to be there Friday afternoon, so I'm sure there will be other splinter groups (Big Mike, sorry if I'm getting ahead of things here)

Nope, that's cool. Yes, about 2 weeks before the event, I will complie a list of rigs that are from similar regions (50 mile radius or so) and list them in groups so that those individual members can contact other members from their area to organize their own caravans. If some don't want to caravan, then I'll just pull their names from the complied list.

Neither myself or the rest of the PNW crew have been there before and we all want to hit the knarliest trails to be found.  Ive seen pictures of the little sluice, looks like fun.  I wonder how my 126 1/2" wheel base is gonna do...

Little Sluice is a knarly rock garden. You don't see tomany toyota with toyota axle make it through.  Even the full sizes with front and rear lockers have trouble and break when they try to go through.  People push rocks into the sluice and it makes it harder.

there is a bypass that isn't hard at all.  You only go through the sluice if you want to.  I should have an exo by then so i will try/make it unless i break.

yeah so we need a marlin sop hand for a guide. as rick james said, ill smoke you the stickiest of the icky!.....i want those kind of trails

Well after reading through this whole thread, I definately want to make this.

But can my rig do it is the question.

By the time September rolls around, My rig should have:
- Rear Locker (E-locker)
- 33's
- Custom rear bumper
- Custom bolt on sliders (need to be able to remove and put running boards back on)
- Custom front skid plate
- Custom rear shock setup, with 12-14" travel 5100's
- LC80 rear springs
- 1.5" BJ spacers

Then maybe:
- Front locker (ARB)
- 1" BL
- Marlin's Champion beadlocks
And if Marlins rear disconnect case is out by then, Im planning on that with 4:1 gears and one of his R151F's.

For spares:
- Full size (33") spare tire
- 2 spare front half shafts
- Idler arm
I know this is not a complete list so help me figure out what other spares to bring.

This would be mine and my Dad's first rockcrawling experience. But it sounds like there will be a good ammount of people there to show us the lines and such.

Who is all  goin to the round up from sacramento?   I think we need to organize like a convoy or something...  So far i think it will be me, Dirtbag josh 84runner, blackdog...  I got three rigs in my group... i think the more of us in a convoy the better..  Post up if your down to meet up and convoy up to the con... we could stop in pville or something to get some food or something...im down for whatever...

Jared, I plan on starting a new topic just for that as the time approaches. But I could just start one sooner... I was going to take everyone's location and sort out the list into groups of people who live in like a 50mile radius of each other. That way those groups can see other members who are in their same area and can contact each other to set up local caravans.
