Mike said we're going to start from the Loon Lake side, The Rubicon Staging Area and stop at Spider Lake Friday then on to the Springs for Sat. night.

Yes, but seriously you will enjoy the trail wwaayy more if you get to ride the whole thing + a group, so I'm sure we will figure out some starting time on the 16th, like at 3PM or something, were we can hopefully get a group together to start from the "Rubicon Staging Area" and take the whole trail in. Sure it'll take more time but you will enjoy the trail. We will probably camp near Spider lake Friday night and then make the Springs by Sat. Afternoon.
BigMike

Bluecruz and some others are going to come from the Tahoe side and will meet up at Rubicon Springs Sat. He's getting some people together riding from that end if that's better for you.

can you drag a pop-up trailer up to the springs?
you can drag a tent trailer in to the springs, ive seen people do that, but you are gonna have to work for it. the object is to decomplicate things as much as possibe, because you will be a long way from anywhere with no fast way out.bring your tent and spend the money on rigging up a shower for your jeep[lots of dust]

ah yes, and speaking of showers...on a more delicate matter :psss: ...I assume there are no rest stops along the trail, I certainly am not shy about talking to a man about a dog, as it were, but what about, you know, :pokinit: are there bathrooms at the campgrounds or should I plan on eatting a whole bunch of cheese for a few days prior?
Or maybe all this info will be included in the registration info?

I'm going to make a home made :toilet: 5 gallon bucket and garbage bags, just need to find a really big bio-hazard sticker for the bucket

twin60s

repost: there are no official rest stops, just stopping for beer and camping. as for turds, its best to bury it or put it in a bag and dispose of it latter-thats one reason the trail is in danger of being shut down for good. in fact they did shut down part of the trail last year because it was getting to be a health hazzard

KYOTA

you can still burry? I thought it was strictly pack it out now

maybe they'll weigh you when you go in, and weigh you when you come out, then compare your packed out turd weight to be sure you are in compliance! :rofl2:

There are no reststops on the trail but there are some port-a-potties along the trail.  I have seen one by Walker Hill and two by Spider.

Lady Di

 MrW suggested we take the Co2 tank we have in the back yard and fabricate it into a porta-potty. We can slap a couple 38's on it and tow it behind.

Port-a-potties along a trail ar reststops! That's more then I could have hoped for :cheer: we have nothing like that in Ocala National Forest where we trail ride (nor the Hatfield McCoy trails in WV for that matter)
