A group of us are going into red and coyote again this up coming weekend. We didn't try getting into coyote last time because the gate keeper looked brutal, but were going to try to make it through this weekend and see what happens.

you can always go to your right going up it.  it a lot easier now than it was loved the old gate keeper

We could've done it but we didn't have enough time. There was one line that looked pretty gnarly though

I use the photobucket app for iPhone you can upload multiple pics at a time and you can imbed the Image URL in your post;)
See you at the Timberline!

I would have taken license plate numbers along vehicle make, model and turned them over to the authorities up there.  Those are exactly the trail users that give fuel for those that want to ban use of trails and shooting up there.

Exactly! And in this friggin state enter damn tree huggers don't need anymore reasons to try and close up the trails.

E YOTA

there was nothing wrong with shooting guns up there....the question is what are they shooting at :slap:
built lastnight, crawl today...

Emerz

Agree, nothing wrong with enjoying and shooting firearms.  It is the night factor that causes a real concern.  The last thing you want to do is give the tree huggers more ammo......sorry the pun.

just have to be 100 ft away from camp sites and roads and cant shoot across bodys of water

Agree with the body of water description.   150 yards is the correct distance.  Just so we are all safe and in compliance.

And most importantly identify your target.  Which if they are shooting at night kinda hard to believe they were able to do that, but then again I wasn't there.

There were 2 sheriff's in our group and they were target shooting too, as well as the others. but they put up targets, and did not shoot aimlessly . there was a report of poaching,(dear) on the Coyote route,so they were on alert looking for whom ever might have  been hunting off season. All and all it was still a great weekend...
