My 2wd Tacoma Build

I've had a lot of people asking questions about my Tacoma and since its not 100% done I guess I can still start a build thread lol.

Truck:
1996 Toyota Tacoma 2wd manual reg cab 2rz

When I got it:
Extremely rough!
Hadn't been registered or ran in 4 years
Had a little custom long travel kit on it with 12" 2.5 SAW coilovers!
220k 2rz
Non op
Got it for $1200

It was trailered to my house and immediately pulled into the garage where it sat for three months while I worked on it!

1999 4runner rear axle 4.88 gears
Fj60 front axle/IFS hubs/taco brakes
Custom three link front
14" FOA resi coilovers
Bobed/dove tailed bed
37" MTRs
Chevy rears with double shackles
W56A dual cases 2.28/4.7 twin sticks
Armored

Register

Exhaust
Ruff Stuff front axle housing 8"
New rear shocks w/ towers in bed
Lower 3"
Bumpstops and limit straps

I have a fj60 front and 3rd gen runner rear. I'm hoping to do a ruff stuff housing up front soon

Seriously man, I left all that stuff in the bed so Austin can do some work if he wanted. Just remember that it has a hole in the radiator so you need to fill it before you move it and then after about 2-3miles it'll need another 2 liter bottle's worth of water

Big enough to drain the radiator in like 5min of driving. I'd say the size of a golf ball. I'm gonna try and get a new rad in it over thanksgiving.

Why would you ditch the 9.5in ring gear for a custom 8in housing. I'd leave it. Sweet ride other wise

I love the 9.5 diff but I'm switching for a few reasons:

1) my 9.5" is 3.73 and I have an 8" in 4.88 in my garage.
2) the housing is pretty messed up so I need a new one anyways.

Thanks man. It was definitely a budget build. All said and done including price of truck I'm in about 3,500. I built it with what I had around.
