IFS Lift Question???
« on: Feb 18, 2005, 10:34:59 PM »
I am doing my ifs lift on a 91 toy and I need to take off the lower A arm.  Thw question is how do I get the eccentric bolt(the one that is used for alignments) to get out?  I have gotten 3 out fine just one wont come out. Do they every just brake in the bushing or what??? Any help would be great!!!

Depend on foxrider's use. Crawler, prob not a great plan although it can be made to work as long as you're realistic about it's strength or lack thereof .
In a Dez machine a solid axle is borderline silly. Ask me how I know.

the best way to get that bolt out is to apply a little heat.  Like enough to melt all the IFS off...

Good luck bro.  I was stuck on the cam bolt for 3 hours, I didn't want to break it and be stuck, so I worked at it.  I tried everything.  Eventually I took the torch to it and cut it, picked up a new one from Toyota the next day.

This truck is just my daily driver a not my wheelin rig. I have a 4runner for that. Anyway I sooked that bolt in two cans of penetrating oil for about 2 days. Then I got a hidrolic press and trried to press it out.  All I ended up doing was bending the braket that the arm is conected to. All I need to do is to get that bolt out and then I am done.  I just don't know if I want to cut it out or if I want to pay some one to do it. How hard is it to do????

that bolt shouldnt be to tight because that has to be moved for people to align it!!!??? i dont knwo why that is being so difficult! you are trying to get it from the nut right!! the bolt will only move so much! i :dunno: that confuses me
