All Pro Tacoma SAS
« on: Apr 14, 2012, 09:52:15 PM »
Well  guys im back on here been a while but im back and now rebuilding my Tacoma. Some of you know/remember me some don't but started out as a bone stock 98 taco when i got it in 08 (had a super charger though) went to a 3in lift for about 4 months then stepped up to a 6in w/35's . Got offered a set of 37 krawlers from the bfg rep for way to good of a price and now its time to sas the taco. been building parts and what not for about a year now. Not new to building trucks or solid axles this has been my daily driver for some time and weekend play here and there when needed since i have put my 4runner on the back burner since it is in Washington and i am now in So Cal.

Build stats areas follows.

All Pro 3 link kit with full aluminum lower links
Walker Evans coilovers
Diamond housing made for tacoma brake set up
Marlins 25mm steering arms
hp diff with 5:29's and grizzly locker
front range t-case mount
long fields with hub gears
switching to all pro 3in rear springs with walker evan shocks
sticking with 37's for now
All pro armor all around

Duals after the swap is finished

im doing all the cleanup work at the shop after housing and on weekends. Once frame is clean we are gonna get it in the shop and start getting it set up.

well enough jibber jabber onto the photos

Here is a picture of my last build

Bone stock

fab tech 6in with 35's

37's

Now time for the fun part  :flamer:

And its out  :willynilly:

Only way to move this crap around lol

Clean up time

And drive side outer frame is cleaned up (just out side bottom and back to follow

Pass side start

That's where i ended this was over a 2 day period been raining down here all week have not been able to get much done out side.

A picture of the front coilovers from walker

the HP from marlin with the rear gears

here are the rear walkers been running these with my 5in springs for a while just gonna set my bumps up correctly

More pictures to come i have most the parts at the shop still awaiting the inner axles and the steering from marlin. hoping to have this done very quickly

No new pictures today just worked on the bottom and inside of the frame today and cut out sheet metal to fit the steering box on the driver side. BUT Talked to Brian at front range today custom length inner axles are done and shipped out  heard from Brendan the bearings im waiting on for the 25mm kit should be in tomorrow hopefully and here by end of week its all coming together just in time!Hoping to hear from summit machine on the lower links tomorrow. frame should be done tomorrow after a bit more grinding and getting ready to start mocking up steering, braces, frame supports and brackets.

Lots of grinding in this warm weather but well worth it. Boss stopped by to check it out and pick up some parts. Told him where i was and where it was gonna be come monday morning and he said alright monday we can pull it in.  :bananasplit: . Frame is done. There will be a few pictures taken since we have to redo the instructions for this kit since we have changed the length of the links the mounts and some other small parts.

 :beerchug:

Oh and figured id give you guys a shot of the fun thats under the hood!  :drooling:

Thanks Brendan. Oh tell your shipping guys thanks for the packaging on my diff that thing was like a present to open with all the bubble wrap.

Came back to the shop today did more prep work so we can get this thing installed quickly. Diff is put into the axle and painted hubs, spindles and knuckles are cleaned up for the most part gotta bring em next door and have them go through the parts washer.

Well figured out on sunday i needed a new brass bushing for one of my spindles luckily my other stuff didnt ship thursday from marlin got one of thos put in. Should have all my 25mm stuff tomorrow and that will finish all my axle stuff i need besides my hd seals they are out for a couple weeks still. Truck didnt make it into the shop today were behind in production so i had the guys building sliders and other stuff all day hopefully tomorrow it can come into the shop but im thinking it will not be done in time for the Tinbenders jam this weekend like i had planned. so onto figuring out what truck i can use from the shop lol. choices are a sas'd taco with duals or a built 83. just trying to figure out which one needs less work to finish taco just needs a few minor adjustments only been out 1 time since the sas

well its been way to long since i have worked on this. We have had the shop full of other trucks getting some proto typing of some new tacoma stuff done but now that its all done the trucks are off to the Over Land Expo for the weekend its time to bring the Taco into the shop. Here are some as we were moving it around in the shop.

Getting it all hooked up i gotta stand back and watch i love my job.

It started to slip as we were turning it   :yikes:

Rearranged it
