Plan on double shearing the hydro assist mount?

No way. Been running em like this for years on my other rig and a buddies with no issues. It's seriously the cleanest way to mount a ram to the axle. Grade 8 for the win. Remember, tie rod ends are single shear.

Yeah. It is going where the tool box is now, and I will cut a hole in the bed floor to keep it low. 900 mile range at capacity.

I personally wouldn't run that propane tank in my truck.  You'd be better off using it as a refilling station for your other tanks.  It's easy to do, without a pump, just takes a little longer.  There's a reason our rigs works so well offroad, the light weight of our rigs.

And I'd use that for one hell of a BBQ!!

Being able to get to trails outside of my current 100 mile radius is really important. Plus, I don't have to fill it all the way.  LPG weighs 4.1 pounds per gallon, so it's lighter than gas anyway.

build it on a trailer so you can refill as you drive if you need and then just leave it at camp while you wheel

Is that tank originally meant to be mounted in a rig? Cause the forklift ones, aren't DOT rated, they are designed to take a beating.  Just don't want to end up with a crack of BOOM!!  Better safe than sorry!!

Yes, this is a DOT motorfuel tank. It's only intended purpose is for automotive applications. And propane tanks are extremely safe. Thanks for showing concern, though.

Finally broke down and added a winch mount. It goes in the receiver and I welded a nut on the underside of the receiver so I can tighten it down.

I don't like how far it sticks out, but it'll probably keep me off climbs I shouldn't be going up anyway.
