Rebuilt injectors
« on: Aug 03, 2011, 09:47:20 AM »
I remember seeing a thread somewhere on here that if you send your injectors to a company they will rebuild and flow match them cheap. I have searched but can't seem to find it. Anyone have a link or know of that thread.

I use the Carburator Factory in Sac., cost is about $32/injector and is same day service if you drop them off in the morning(about a 4hr turn around).  A bit far to drive from Tracy, I would think there would be a shop a little closer, you might give a call to some of the repair/machine shops in your area and see if there is anyone locally.

If you want to try a DIY method you can flush them yourself using a push button/pule on/off toggle switch(on when pushed, off when released), a 3cc syringe(needs to fit on teh injector intake/outlet ports), a spray can of intak/carb cleaners, an injector harness(or two tiny femal blade connectors), and a 12vlt power source.  Search youtube, there are a few videos that will show you how to set it up.  I cleaned the ones on the '84 I am restoring myself, when I pulled them one was dry while the pother three were wet.  When I back flushed it a bunch of crap came out and then it flowed as nice as the other did three after cleaning.
