87 4Runner redo--Half doors started
« on: Feb 09, 2008, 09:02:57 PM »
I just bought a completely stock 87 4Runner, SR5 automatic with the engine torn apart. It even has the factory radio in it   I'm going to use my current 4Runner to make this one run. I'll post pic's soon cause

that paint looks an awful lot like mine did.  get some polishing compound, and I'll bet it turns dark red.

I can see the hood & front fenders have been repainted, thats why it looks like  :pokinit: The rest of the truck has the clear coat coming off here & there but I'm going to have it repainted when I'm done.

Probably not much at all, considering it was designed for a stock truck and the liability issues would lead to some conservative #s. :dunno: They are super cool bling though. :bling: :afro: :afro2:

Nice runner to start with. My first 4runner was an 87. I have the altimeter in mine. Its acurate if your not moving. When it had IFS I had it almost to 30* side to side and it scared the :pokinit: out of me. My buddy behind me said he could see my tires start to come off the ground. I will re-test it when the SAS is done. Good luck with your build.

The crank seal on my white Runner started leaking yesterday. I'll fix that this weekend & hopefully get the automatic tranny out.

I picked 5 of these up the other day. They are 33x12.5x15 Yomamas Gettolanders with 15x9 street locks. The rims are like new with no rock rash. I'll be putting the 35's on these & selling the 33's.

I'm going to keep the brown 4Runner as a daily driver for my wife. All the mods that I had planned for the brown Runner will now be done to the white Runner.
