If the gf doesn't want you to have what brings you happiness then she isn't worth having.

If you sacrifice your own desires to make someone else happy it will eventually reach a boiling point because the person that you make these sacrifices for usually wants more and more until it reaches a boiling point. It will end badly and you will resent them for it.

I'd dump the girlfriend...apparently she has already ruined your ability to make a decision. Build the truck, learn how to make choices all by yourself...then find a woman.

I agree w/ Toymin8r... this is just a snapshot of things to come.. if you let her have this then it's only a matter of time before she try's to control you in some other way.

BINGO!!!!!! My wife is very supportive of my hobby. Are there times where she would rather I didn't spend all my $$$$$$$ on it, or be out in the garage until midnight everynight working on my rig? Sure, but she knows that's my thing and she supports me in it.

If you're girl is giving you the "it's the rig or me" line............she's got issues. And getting rid of your rig isn't going to fix that.

my last gf hated my 85 4runner. i would tell her atleast my truck hasn't failed me! oh she hated when i said that. yeah this girl seems to be the exact opposite of me too bad its taken almost a year for me to realize this.

This is an interesting place to ask for advice on "love," but if you have to ask this question then your girlfriend obviously doesn't mean that much to you so I'd go with the truck. It's best for both of you in the long term. I'm not saying that she should be worth more to you than your truck, but if she isn't then there's no point in stringer her along.

My wife understand my need to have my 4Runner, but if circumstances happened where it was her or the 4Runner, the 4Runner would be gone in an instant.

At times my wife may not like or agree to something I want to do but she would never give me that type of an ultimatum, as I would never do to her. You are an individual as she is and you will have things that you don't want to or don't like to do. I like 4x4's she could care less, she likes to gamble a little I could care less, but she will go camping and I do go with her. It's a 2 way street and if she can't deal with that she needs to move on not you. I'm sure you'd be more than willing to deal with what she's into but it seems that she can't.
