To any one running taco rotors what wheel studs did you use? Definitely need some longer ones, but I haven't been able to find much searching.

So after this the main things I need to do is get/make a front drive shaft, armor, finish brakes and... that's pretty much it. Just some little :pokinit: left after that. Soooo close to being able to go out and wheel!

Bit of an update. Picked up a t-case crossmember off craigslist. I think beef is an understatement, the main portion is 1/2" and it has a mini skid that goes underneath where the t-cases mount. Also bolts with through the frame. Very solid to say the least. Here's some pics I stole off craigslist.

So I got it fitted up and tried to install it, which led to this...

The truck it came out of had a 2" body lift which is why I had to cut up the floor. The top of the front output is still hitting the floorboard, so there is still trimming to do. Sheet metal work shouldn't be too bad. Also had to move the frame mounts a bit since it came off a 3rd gen.

Anybody have any suggestions on stiffening up the holes in the through the frame? Was thinking about running some tubes through the frame, but I don't know if I want to go through with it haha.

ha ha i was goin to buy that . . i called and it was already sold

Well, there has been progress on my junk. All I need to do is find some tires for my 17's and build my front shaft and it's wheelable. I'll post some pics and updates tomorrow.

Update time

As posted above my new t-case crossmember wasn't going to fit without some cutting.

First Cut

Eventually cut quite a bit more. Used some 3/4" square tubing to make a frame.

Then added some supports.

And some finished shots installed.

Mounted the skins for the tunnel with some sheet metal screws. It was a bit more work, but being able to remove them if needed seemed worth it to me.

Raising the cases that much meant that the horsecollar crossmember was going to have to be modified pretty heavily for driveline and exhaust clearance, decided to just cut it out completely. Made a new one out of 2"x2" square tubing with a notch for the exhaust.

Also had to move the gas tank because it attached to the old horsecollar, to the bed it went. Used some left over 3/4" square tubing from the trans tunnel to make a frame and mounts for the tank.

Going rear disks meant that I had to redo my rear brake lines. Picked up some 3/8" copper brake line and went to work.

Making the lines ended up being super easy so I redid the front lines since I didn't like how they were set up.

Pass side, cut the old mount and moved it to the side of the frame rail.

And how I rand it to the caliper. Made some tabs to attach the lines to that mount with the caliper bolt.

Driver side had a female fitting on the frame rail so I used an old line I had and ran it to the frame rail. I think the line was the old rear soft line.

Had to pull the tranny since the clutch wasn't disengaging. Threw it back in and everything worked great  Can't wait to use the duals.

And how it sits today.

Just have some rollers and my old 15's with 1.5" spacers until I can find some tires for my 17's. And if in any of the pics you see gear oil that's because it was leaking out of the rear shifter since there isn't an oil slinger  :shake:

Definitely need some paint haha. Just welded in the horsecollar replacement crossmember today and still have to do bump stops in the front, once that's done I'll give everything a nice coat of paint.

You'll get there   I honestly wasn't sure if this day would ever come  :talkingn:

I hope so.  I'm tired of saving money up, just to see it disappear for things other than my truck.  I'm tired of being the last one to get what they want.  (but being a father tends to do that)  Been working my ass off in overtime, just to pay the bills.  I'm getting closer to getting all the parts for my front axle.   I've had a rebuild kit longer than I've had an axle.   :rofl2:   Then it's getting parts for the sas.

Bit of an update. Sitting on some worn 37" km2s now.

Just got back this morning from Hollister lol. Worked damn good, pretty much point and shoot. Only trails I really ran were Jungle and Tank Trap. Wasted a driver door at Squeeze and driver tail light on Tank Trap. Bed is kinda fucked. Driving home with no window was not fun lol. I'll see if I can get some pics.

If anyone has or knows someone who has a driver door near San Luis Obispo let me know. Tail light or lens too.

wow i havent checked out your build for a min. looks good, my bud built crossmember pushed my tran/tcase all the way. so when i took it  to the floor. basically the my hole shifter and base are above the floor. So i have taken the yota to con twice ( not all the way threw), and in the snow and the tran/tcase will bang a little. especially in the snow.   i really haven't researched this project quite yet so its nice to see how it was done by someone  . i think it is time for the yota to get some  .

Thanks. Love the clearance with the cases tucked up and gas tank moved.

Only pic I could find from Jungle/weekend. Found a door and tail light, but still need a driver side mirror. Added another color to the list lol. Now the driver door is red.

Just got back from the Hammers a couple days ago for New Years. Besides dumb driver truck ran tits. Ran Claw twice, Sledge, Turkey Claw and Wrecking Ball. Only issues were leaky diff drain plugs and broken marker lights  Other than that zero breakage. Here's some pics from the facebooks.

Claw

Almost flop on Sledge

Passed smog today, it's street legal again :woohoo:

Cage and duals soon!

Smog sucks. What is next a probe in your shorts so a fart is not putting out to much hydrocarbons and a special funnel so you dont leak when you pee?

Thanks everyone. Haven't been on the forums much lately. Haven't really done anything since New Years to it, just tightened up what's loose haha and still driving it everyday. Need to give everything a once over and throw some paint at this thing before I go on a snow trip I'm going on next month.

Just got back yesterday from snow wheeling. Went up to Bald Mountain and wheeled Saturday. Had a blast, definitely want to go back.

Also finally got the rig painted. Really like how it turned out.

Here's a couple pics.

Thanks! It's just some painters touch rustoleum rattle can.

Not sure why I haven't started a build thread on the forums yet. Only got many truck down and started getting involved this year. Gonna start putting in a legit cage soon so I'll probably start one then.
