My names justin I'm 18 live in sacramento ca. Got the truck bone stock when i was 16 and a junior in high school. Wheeled the :pokinit: out of it stock for 2 years and for the last 3 months it was stock i threw a welded rear in and that made it way more fun haha. Gathered parts and did a lot of studying within the past two years threw a rod and rebuilt the 3.0 about 4 months ago now and completed the sas about 1 ago.  First truck I've built so far and i like the way it turned out. i was going for as low as possible and it came out to about 23" to the frame. Been wheeling a lot lately and trucks been doing awesome

92 4runner 3.0 v6 with about 3k miles on it (time of build)
23 spline Marlin 4.7 single case
Advance Adapter V6 adapter
85 front axle
Trail Gear V6 dual case crossmember
5.29s Lockright
12" pro comp shocks (front)
Trail Gear High steer
Trunnion Eliminators
G2 chromos
Marlin Diff guard
2nd gen toyota rears up front 4 leaf pack with a rancho lift leaf
Sky off road front hanger
Sky Boomerang shackles
Sky spring hangers in the rear
Sky 6" shackles
Sky shackle hangers
Trail gear u bolts front and rear
F-150 springs in the rear flipped around
10" pro comp shocks (rear)
I ditched the stock rear housing and got an 86 housing with perches so i didn't have to mess with the link brackets and to save time (best idea ever)
5.29s with a yukon spool
35" wrangler mtr's on pro comp 15x10 rock crawler rims

Feel free to say what you think, comments welcome

dropping the ifs wasn't as bad as i thought it would be

grinding was terrible though and it just sucked haha

now the frame holes were probably the scariest part hah easy though

then it was on the the rear

before all link brackets were cut

after cutting

now over the past 2 years I've had a hell of a time trying to find exactly where to put the rear spring hanger. Since toyota linked the rear end of 2nd gen 4runners there is no spring hanger to just move forward 10 inches lol. I did find on this forum though that someone measured 28" straight back of the torsion bar mount center hole thing idk what its really called but ya. so that was the route i ended up going with 28" back of that hole. It seemed to work fine. i run ford f-150 springs and love them. great departure angle and the flex awesome. i also dd this truck and they ride awesome on the road.

so thats where my build pic end for some reason lol but heres some other pics of it

38"

first time wheeling since the build

first snow run

prairie city the day i broke a birf lol the reason i went to g2's lol

so at the moment my tires are as bald as they can get haha I'm waiting my tax returns to buy new 35s ill keep the updates coming. feel free so say what ya want lol

Do either duals or a single 4.7 kit so worth it it will make a world of difference

If I do toyota cases ill for sure do stock duals buuut I really like this

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/toyota-truck-4runner/881539-dana-300-toyota-w-o-adapters-hybrid-r150-ax15-tranny.html

The only thing is if I do that then I really have to cut the floor up and if want to just flat belly it then. blah hah

Dingman.

I would personally rather have toy cases.

I had a lot in mine though not including drivelines since i get those for free.
$330 marlin xd07
$300+ inchworm v6 adaptor
$300 toyota cases (23 spline)
$260+ tg crossmember
$220 longfield chromo output.
Plus tcase mounts, extra top shift shifter.  Etc...

I made the mistake of buying a top shift and a forward shift 21 spline cases that i was going to convert to 23 spline, but at the time i was doing my duals nobody has 23spline input gears in stock.
So i bought two turbo cases, and assembled my duals and sold all the 21 spline stuff to a buddy at a loss.

Then a deal came up and i bought a new 4.7 set for some parts i had and $150 i think.
All said and done, i am super happy with my setup!!

J_Cole92

Ya I've been going back and forth the past couple months now but probably gonna do toyota cases, i know i can build the toyota cases and i could throw them in another rig whenever so thats a plus too. anddd i can probably come up with toyota duals faster than trying to find a dana 300 and an ax15 blah blah.

Anyway gonna go with my buddy to pick up some 37s for him in a little and then i want to finish my bumpstops once and for all. well see how today goes haha

I got rid of my duals and went with a single D300 case twinsticked with the factory 2.72 low range.  I now run the D300 behind an auto, but I really like the D300.. 23 spline in and out.. rear d-line disconnect and I am set up for an atlas later on :eyebrow:  Stay with me here.. It's a strength upgrade as well as getting the front digs/rear disconnect option without buying anything else.. just my :twocents:

1985CRAWLER

if you daily drive it id do toyota cases. very easy to work on and parts are relatively cheap if u end up breaking something.

but if u go with chromo output and 23 spline itll be hard to break unless u try too.

How did you make the speedometer work? Sounds good!
>Chuck Norris invented black. In fact, he invented the entire spectrum of visible light. Except pink. Tom Cruise invented pink.

Tungsten Slayer

No speedo in this crawler.  I am either going slow or fast and that's all I know.  The D300 has a mechanical speedo sensor and there are adapters available for them.
