A HF kinker will not do the exhaust job. Maybe you can get away with bumpers..

You're right. Looked into it more and it seems the hf bender works better on thicker walled pipe. May get it in the future, but not going to worry about it now.

Any suggestions on the exhaust, besides taking it to a shop? I have the exhaust tubing already, just need to run out somehow.

I have no idea, without taking it to a shop. Most parts stores have pre bent tubing you could weld together.

Waiting to here back from Dave'z on my shock hoops, sent them last week and haven't heard anything back

Tranny sounds like it's going to go out soon too, so that gives me more motivation to tear everything apart and put in the new tranny. Probably going to order a Marlin clutch too. Thinking about going with the 1200 lb clutch since the 1600 lb clutch is out of stock and 1800 seems like too much to me

Put in shock hoops today. Had to measure for them so I got to use the forklift

Didn't hit or rub anywhere. Here are some flex pics

Tire stuffs nicely, doesn't look like I have to do any trimming.

Should be getting the cage put in tomorrow.

looks great man. fwiw suspensions tend to stuff a tad mroe when on the trail and it has weight focused on certain areas, and also should turn tires lock to lock when doing if not. Awesome though, bet you stoked to finally be getting it tuned and done

You're probably right. I'm also gonna set my bump stops on the front at about the same spot so the front shouldn't stuff too much more. I didn't get a pic but I also turned the wheels to see if they were going to hit the shock hoops or anything else and they didn't.

Put the shocks on today. They are a not perfectly vertical, but oh well, they'll work.

The cage was a different story, ended up being a total PIA

It came from a 3rd gen extended cab so everything ended up being off. I'm going to have to cut off where the cage goes towards the front of the cab from the main hoop and adjust it since it points in the wrong direction. Just some more work I have to do.

Small update, wish it was something exciting. Finally got the cage in, what a pia. Called Marlin to order my clutch and the 1200 lb clutches are 2 to 3 weeks out

Don't know if I should wait or order one from Napa.

Totally forgot about the wheels, sorry. I just traded two of my spares, but I'll see if I can pick them up. I might be heading to Slo next week.

Ordered my clutch finally. Was out of town 3 days this week, but finally got it ordered.

I've always had a leak from the windshield that caused water to come into the cab. Finally got tired of it and decided to take out the windshield and see how bad it was. As you can see it's going to need some work

Understatement of the year... think you can save those pillars or is another cab in the future?

I'm gonna try to save the pillars. I have a lot of sheet metal left over from when I did my half doors, so I'll try to make it work. I'm not going to try to make it nice by any means, just water tight. A cab swap is also out of the question $ wise right now, plus I just got the cage in.

Wow... well, good luck with that mess. If I end up scrapping my 84's cab I'll let you know; could send you some chunks of non-holy metal in A-pillar shape. Maybe the entire glass surround if needed; cowl included.

I did manage to get the windshield out without breaking it though

I'll also be starting on the rust repair this week, hope it goes well. Shouldn't be too bad. I'm also gonna pull out the transmission, assemble my duals, and hopefully get it all back in soon. Then I have to get my drivelines done and figure out what I'm going to use for a crossmember.

AISIN-SECO is the company if im not mistaken

My concern was they sent the wrong one mostly, we'll see. I'm gonna try to get this done this week. Only thing that might hold me back is the rear driveshaft, gotta order one and wait to get it back.

Didn't even think of that. On the description it seems like a whole different company.

Also gonna try to finish up my 4.88 third now that I have all my parts. Hopefully can sell that quick for some funds. If anyone is looking for one let me know.

Bit of an update

Cases are torn apart. Ran into a problem/ confusion on my part. Not sure where I need to weld the keystock mentioned in the instructions. I'm running a forward shift crawl box and it looks like I have to weld the keystock to the driver side shift fork, but not sure

Also is the passenger side shift fork even needed then?

Any help would be great.
