IronClad: If I wanted to hold hands and be nice I'd become a hippie.
Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos. And a beer. If your old enough.
I sold Josh those longs and they are the old older style that are just a welded ring on the birf and heat treated
...so not chromoly? Whoops, I need to start paying attention more often. Did you get your hydro set up yet? I may add that to the "To Do" list for this thing.>>Dan
i thought u won a set of mtr's from the 09c4rj?
dual t-cases before 4.7's
Duals will get you your stock low range of 2.28 to 1 along with 5.2 to 1 (2.28*2.28). Going straight to a 4.7 box is nice but you will lose your stock low range. On most trails, I usually am running in my 4.7 box, front case in high. If it's an easy trail, I've got the front box in low and the rear box in 4H (aka stock low range). You could get away with a 4.7 box only, but you'll be in 4th & 5th gear between obstacles on most trails.
Did you end up with that 4Runner in your first post? What size Alcan springs are on it? What size tire are you planning on running? If you plan on running trails no tougher than Holy Cross, I'd suggest 35's and 5.29's to make it easier to get around town and up the mtns. 35's will take you anywhere you want to go.
That sounds confusing... but I'll cross that bridge later. So with duals there's no "low-low"? Hm... I have much to learn. Eh, I'll figure it out later.
It's in the "extended payment plan"... since I am unemployed and all that goodness. I think the Alcans are 5" and I have 37" MTRs and spare wheels for the trails. I'll run small radials around town; like P235/75s or something cheap. That front axle has 5.29s and I should be picking up the rear third with a Detroit and 5.29s in November; I'm thinking about selling the stock axles (open/open 4.10s?) down the line and I'm planning on having this ready for next year's CO4RJ
