A little update...........
I installed my Marlin L52HD and its amazing.  Shifts smooth no noises !! Really stoked that Marlin took care of me.  Hes a great guy.
Ive also finish tapping my IFS box and getting ready to install it and mount the ram.
Mounted my roll bar again but im thinking it might be too heavy with all my trail stuff so it might be coming back out.
Gonna go get my chrome steel rims swapped out with the black D windows I have.  Pretty much a few days of work away from being completely ready for the trail.

Just need to get it done before Rubithon in 2 weeks.  Gonna be heading up on thursday night and then heading in with Marlin and his gang on friday morning bout 9 am.

How's the big truck coming?

I put in a good radiator and fix a few other little things but I still dont have the funds to build a headache rack for it.  I am gonna weld on some wheel stops so when I drive it on it will cradle the front tires and should allow me to tow my truck without a rack.
The truck starts up great now and runs well besides the engine temps get a little high when I am above 55 for a bit. I am sure its due to me not having 50/50 coolant in it.  Dang radiator takes 5 gallons.
Hey Jrock you gonna go with me and my group to the rubicon on the 14th ?

MCR!!!! ?????

Ya we are going to MCR.   I am gonna be up there for the rubithon on friday thru sunday.  Ill be getting there on the 14th and running in with marlins group.
As of now I need to fix my rear springs.  They are way too soft.  Gonna add a leaf to them and put on longer shackles.
Its been SOOOOOOO frickin hot last few days I havent been up to working.  Ill get it done soon.
Plus I cant wait to install the hydro assist and see if my tapping job works.
By the time the round up hits my truck will have had a few runs on it this year.  Cant wait to get out there and play.

jrock

I can't make the Rubithon. No time or money. I'm saving for a Rubicon trip in August and September. I'd like to do Fordyce but that seams out of the question this year :(

Well I was driving my truck the other day and had only bout 100 pounds and the back.  To say the least my rear shackles are locked back up against my frame which is totally odd.  Gonna add a leaf back to rear springs and put on a little longer shackles.  Looks like I might have to take out the roll bar.  Not a big deal but I do like having it there to hold my Hi Lift jack.  Ill just make a mount on the inside of my bed rail.
As soon as it cools down some im gonna get out there and finish the projects on my list.

Here is a list of what I want to get done before the 14th.
1-Pick up a 20ft stick of 1.5 Hrew tube and bend rear bumper.
2-Mount small fire extinguisher on passenger kicker panel.
3-Get my Black D window rims swapped over.
4-Make some brackets for 3" speakers that will go in the upper back corner of cab.
5-Make some sort of half or tube doors.  Might make some out of 2"x1" steel tube, then skin outside.  Just trying to come up with something with the steel I have here.
6-Mount hydro assist ram.  Need to fab up a brackets to hold the ram itself.
7-Going to install raddy in loop of the power steering system.  Gonna need extra cooling to keep ps pump alive with hydro.
8- (Add a leaf to rear spring pack and install longer rear shackles.
9-Poss remove roll bar due to weight.(Gonna leave it for now)
10-Pull rear axle housing and 3rd and see if I can fix this rock assault from leaking all the time.  When I am driving at higher speeds it spits fluid out of breather tube.  I put a sealed breather on it and it leaks fluid out of drivers side seal.  Replaced that seal 3 times.  Should call TG and see if they know how to fix this POS.  Thinking I might weld in a piece of steel to block fluid from having direct access to breather port.
11-Recheck all the gear all and lube everything up.
12-Change engine oil and filter.
13-Fix fuel gauge.  Stopped working bout a week back.  Really need to find a short bed 1st gen fuel gauge.  I have like 2-3 longbed sr5 gauges.  Wonder if I can change the fuel level float in tank to a longbed one and have it read close to correct.
14-Swap out rear sliding window with one I took out of my 82.
15-Put another exhaust bracket on to keep it further away from rear shock.
16-Finish installing front bump stops.
17-Maybe put a few lights on crossmember if I have time.
18-

You can do the rubithon run without being in the event.  I was too late to sign up so im gonna camp at buck.   Heck man its just gas and food.  Quit being a wuss !!
I think Fordyce is gonna be open by aug.  1st.

Keep up with the pics!
Thanks
Gonna post some pics of the switch panel I made for my front lights and e locker switch.

jrock

It's cuz I don't have money for gas, and the last few camping trips I haven't eaten :p

Then my work won't let me away for more than three days. Non of which can be weekends.

crazykooter

Ok Jrock.......We will get out to fordyce this year for sure.

I just finished putting on the longer shackles in the rear.  Seems to be sitting better even with the roll bar in.  Gonna have to drive it to see what it does.

This is a pic of the IFS box I tapped for hydro.  I still need to take it apart again and clean up the threads more.  It should be going in tomorrow.

The switch plate I made.  I decided to use Toyota switches so it not very uniform.  Either or it works.

Thanks bud.........You gonna go to the rubithon next weekend ?
Im gonna be heading up either late thursday night or early friday morning.
Hopefully this hydro assist setup works out.  Ive got it installed and was just testing it when the tack welds I made on the tie rod broke.  Gonna fix that and bleed it out tomorrow.  Then we will see.
Ill get some pics up tomorrow.  Plus ill be finishing the bump stops.  That will take 5 mins.

crazykooter

Couple of pics of the hydro all done and the bump stops welded on.
Need some more atf and a oil cooler and im ready to hit the trail.

Basically I traded labor for it.

I got it all together today and it works like a charm.  Have to get use to steering at higher speeds.
Still need to finish painting it all and thats it.

Ya we are signed up just not on the list yet.  Mike is slacking off. LOL
Funny thing is I couldnt remember your last name so I put you down as Jim usaf.
Ill get some good pics of the trail this weekend.  Should be a blast when we do the roundup.

I am gonna be rebuilding a buddies front axle today and putting 30 spline longs in.
Not sure if I am gonna have time to finish my tow rig by tomorrow.
I REALLY need to make some half doors or something.

Ya that was the plan.  I took it on the freeway for the 1st time today and man o man is the steering sensitive.  Gonna take some getting use to.
We will see how it does on the trail on friday.  It should be nice.
