you havent seen my sisters...
below the head cover/valve cover... everything is covered in at least 1/2in or more of grease.

  now THATS  greasy

yeah its bad..... cant find the culprit.
its not a valve cover gasket... that was replaced 300 miles ago.
dont think its the head gasket...cause the engine doesnt act like a blown HG.

My engine would never look like that, I don't care if it has 200,000 miles on it (it does) I hate getting all greasy on the trail or in my garage if I can avoid it. If I take a part off to repair it or replace a gasket it will be cleaned and painted before I put it back, well unless I am fixing it on the trail.

oh i hate it too to be honest.

who remembers my white 87...? the engine compartment on that...?

had 350,000mi on the truck, 180,000mi on a 90 22RE.. and i polished, cleaned and maintain that thing under the hood on a constant basis.
and dont forget.. I went mudding in it 2-3 times a week.
yet by the end of the week or after a hard mud... i detailed it, to only go plaster it in mud the following day.

I HATE DIRTY ENGINES!
makes it sooooo difficult to operate on and fix.

i always do too  but  that hasnt been touched  in a long time  and  alot of  hard miles 

God  knows how many times i had that motor apart  a couple years back, seemed like  every other week i had  to tear it down

dont worry  its  gonna look alot better

well i  was  down there pondering    and realised  i had some springs  left from that 71 camaro i had,  they are 24 1/2  front eye  to center,  so  im gonna  use them for now,  and mount them a  1/2 inch forward  of  stock, this way when i get some f150's  25 inches center to front they should move the axle back  to where it should be

im not sure about how these springs  will hold up  but  they are "close"  to the f150s  so i can atleast get it rollable

i would imagine the spring rate is pretty low on those

why move the front hanger   i think you should move the rear hanger. longer wheelbase

actually  the rear hanger will need to go back  a couple inches  but thats later

I would think that the sportcar springs would be too stiff but I suppose I dont know why they would be any stiffer than truck springs...  I curious to see how it works out for ya..
