Ok, i wasn't going to but i'll fully strip each motor, and toss the blocks in the scrap. If i'm gonna pull the heads i might as well save the cranks and con rods too, timing covers, blah blah.

The guy who owns the property where my stuff is stored wants to put a building where i have it all, and i asked him not to have his guys move my stuff around as i didn't want to lose anything else. At the very least i should go up there and sort/ move stuff into scrap/ keep/ landfill piles, and make sure it's relocated out of his way while keeping his employee's eyes/ hands off.

So weather permitting i'll make my first parts run sometime end of next week. It's been kinda cold/ rainy here and i'm just getting sick, prolly the flu, and i'm sure it'll slow me down. The guy i'm getting a used crossover steering setup from mailed it today (Wed), and said i should have it by Monday. That'll make the long trip south safe.

diaphragm??

Yeah diaphragm! :gap:

As it gets old you can get a hole in it and fuel will get in there and cause a stumble in the engine.

I ended up working on another project but I wish I had just got it over with.  I wont be a bit surprised if one cylinder or more is around 50 psi or under
its putting out maybe 80 hp right now.

If it really is putting out 80HP now, you'll have a normal 22R... :gap:

That 84 22R engine i have will fill a parking lot with blue smoke in 30 seconds...

If you intend to use it to build a high-compression motor, let me know and i'll strip it down and run it through the machine shop up here.

OK, yes please do cause I need it to hold 180 psi compression or better.

I did my compression check yesterday :(

#1.  140
#2.  140 but leaked down fairly quickly
#3.  125
#4.  135

its not running good but the compression numbers were better than I thought they would be.

I guess I never filled yall in on what was going on with the bad running issue.  well,  I pulled the carb apart and did a real thorough inspection and found tiny little balls of jellied ethanol.  I hate CORN :tantrum:

ok  its time for new brakes on old blue SO,  heres the question.

1. get the drilled and slotted land cruiser rotors Marlin sells, ($149 ) requiring me to find some 81-85 wheel hubs ($50 or more) and a set of wheels spacers. ($100 or more)

or
2.  Tacoma brake adapter from FROR. ($99) this uses Tacoma calipers (already have) and Tacoma rotors (already have but they are worn)  Now this option requires a new brake line ($89 from Marlin) but I really need braided steel lines anyway.  the really cool thing is that once done I can pull the rotors off just by pulling the wheels off.

x2 only use late model 231mm tundra rotors and calipers with the FROR mounts.

tacoma setup for sure. its just better over all. You are obviously in muddy conditions and slotted/drilled rotors are going to do nothing but chew your brakes up even faster
