It's a vertical to horizontal transition for grease duct

4 1/2" angle grinder
Piece of unistrut as a straight edge
and a tape measure
24" truck mounted brake for flanges.

It's 24ga metal..very hard to weld with a MIG in the field. Miller 130, 3 wire speed and 1 notch on heat...pulsed/drag welded

introducing........ Mr. Twisty the ultimate twist-a-nator.

also known as my hydro bender project..    i will post a full build on it if people are interested..  i think you all would be impressed with how many toyota parts out of my extra stock went into this build..  lol..

i am not done obviously but i should be done within  the next few weeks...  i still have to mount my hydaulic tank, pump, 5hp electric motor and my valves..  all of which I have the parts.. just need time..

i am doing something a little different with this bender as well.. not only am I using a manual valve for operation but i will also have an electric over hydraulic valve with a hand cable remote plumbed into the system as well.   this should help with handling the tube by myself and not be stuck right at the bender..

here are a few pics...

the never ending build...

I really enjoy fabbing things I just need to improve my welding skills.

I have started on a cart for my tube bender with the SWAG hydraulic kit, I will be working on it tomorrow. Pictures to follow.

Nice build on the long travel.
What's up with those rear shackles though? Not finished? And why didn't you put the hanger mounts on top the frame rails, then not box it so far back? Like alot of desert guys do?
Not sure if you understand what I'm saying lol..

the rear shackles are already 12" long, I didn't want them any longer with stock 63" chevies under it.
I am going to built a dual tire holder up in there and didn't want the shackles in the way.
the front arms have about $450 in materials and 30 hrs into them, beats the total chaos price and its stronger too.
.188 wall dom with .25 plate and 1" uniballs with 5/8" through bolts.

Built a 55 Gallon smoker for my father in law for Christmas.  Got some internet plans and went from there.

Ended up taking two days to fab, way more than the bolt together plans I got.  Ha Ha.

Burned it out and ready to use it now, can't wait to do a big slab of meat.

Only cost about $100
