Yeah no :pokinit:!   His DD already has better parts on it than my crawler, and now he thinks it needs 80 series axles and link suspension!  :headscratch:  Gonna be way sick though peacesells

So what is the situation with the full blown buggy you were going to build Mike?

damn! the 4skinner is so sick dude!  I wish I had the money to continue to put badass parts on my crawler :rivers:

Hahah same here. I'm broke biatch! :gap:

Gonna try and immitate what you did with your AC peacesells. My AC has been busted since I got my 4runner and I would really like to have ice cold AC. Looks like a good plan man, gonna be sick(er).

Yeah, its goin to be overkill for sure.. I definately dont need 80 axles, but I like width, full floaters, rear and disc brakes. Alot of my wheelin buddies have been blowin out trunion bearings, bending housings, tearing out steering studs, and shearing steering pins on 37's. My rig is 1000lbs or so heavier than a gutted crawler and it definately wont get any lighter with time. What im thinking is by the time I sell my mini axles and sell the extra high pinion I should have enough to get the longs for the front axle, steering arms, drag link, tie rod, and gears for the rear 3rd.

Besides reliability, I am doing it for 3 reasons: Ride quality on rough roads, to get rid of front axle wrap, and to get the super low ride height I want without adding to the axle wrap and body roll.

Another bonus is that I can run 4.5 or 5in backspaced wheels, which is what most of the nice aluminum beadlocks come in.

The buggy build is still in the parts gathering stage, and will be for a while. Im waiting to find a ford 60 at the junk yard, then I can start mock up. I really dont want to stay in phoenix for another summer, so moving up north could delay things a few months. This rig will be my main project for the summer/fall :horseride:

Im broke assed too, I have some weird way of wheelin and dealin on craigslist to make money for projects... I dont even know exactly how it works, it just does :dunno:

I highly reccomend the es12a and the e fan. The volvo fans are a lot nicer than taurus fan imo, they dont draw as much power and they have a start capacitor so the lights dont dim or anything when it comes on. The main thing when converting your a/c to a new refridgerent is to flush every component but the compressor, take the compressor off and  drain the old oil, flush it 2-3 times with esther oil, then drain it ALL out. dump half of your new oil in the compressor and half in the new accumulator and slap it together!

The other day I had to turn the ac on low after 5 mins of driving in 109 degree weather, made me so damn happy....

This is the same sort of setup I am going for minus the square tube links and d44. There are some good go fast videos towards the end of the build. I like the sway bars

Huge difference, worth every penny. the only thing I was worried about when I installed it was the chance that it might smell like tar when the weather got hot, but it has been up around 115 here and no smell whatsoever. It is holding up really well too. I highly reccomend it

I have the entire back done, floor and sides, both doors, only things left are the passenger compartment floor and firewall. I will take care of that when I do the 3rz swap. All of the noise I do hear comes from the firewall, but its about half as loud as it used to be. right now its quiter on the highway than my 99 chevy extended cab LS is.

Haha, it happens man... Every other truck I had body damage was my favorite sound, on rocks or with a sawzall. This one is scary though, I raised it from 28in tires...

I hope to sell my chevy and pick up an fzj80 for a daily driver, then im thinkin ill go ahead with the 80 axles and 3 link in the red runner after the 3rz swap and cash flow problems are solved... Big plans...

I took the 4runner on a 3 day trip up in N Az last week, it did great! I left at 11am, it was 104 at my house and the a/c stayed at 38 degrees the whole way up with the fan on hi. I shut it off for about 2 minutes to get up the big 6-7% grade hill out of town, never dropped below 55mph! I turned the a/c off once we hit 6500ft and the weather was in the 70's. On the way back to phx, I did not turn the a/c on for the first 70 miles, and when I did I left the e fan off to see if it would heat up. Temp stayed right around 180, a/c at 38 degrees and I never had to downshift to 3rd on a hill. I did my mileage when I got home, 19.5mpg fully loaded in very hilly terrain with the a/c on 2/3rds of the time at 70-75mph wide open on the hills! I used to get 23mpg hwy all stock suspension with no fan, no bumpers, no load, a/c off, 32's and 4.11's in the middle of winter by myself. Not too bad of a mileage drop for 500lbs of extra weight on the truck and 400lbs of gear in the back, 2 people and a dog, and a/c on hi in the middle of the summer!

On another note, I found my bellhousing! it will be shipped next week and shortly after the choppin will begin...

Its been a while since Ive posted, have had a lot goin on... Movin up north to flagstaff for school this year, so im sellin most of the yota stuff thats not goin on my rig. Spent the last 2 weeks gettin rid of :pokinit: so I have less to move and tieing loose ends up around here. Did a trip to vegas and 2 weeks of work in flagstaff last month... My old boss misses me, so he has been plannin work around my schedule and keepin me busy as hell.

Sold the 35's and finally got the new 37in km2's on the runner, beadlocks were still out of stock so I orderd some black 17x8 4.5in bs cragar soft 8's. I went with a deep backspace so they wont be rediculously wide on the 80 axles. The truck rides perfect now, no vibrations whotsoever!

The 3rz bellhousing I was supposed to get ended up being cracked, but I have another one on the way. Looking to get the swap done before the winter hits.

Swapped out the trail jizz flat pittman arm I was running for a sky billet 1in drop piece. The slight amount of bump steer and steering play I had is completely gone!

Im gathering parts for the front link setup, picked up a set of new 14in fox 2.0 remote resevoir coilovers :bling: Now im looking for a good deal on 8 ballistic joints. I hope to link the front over christmas break.

I will be working on the new tcases next week and hope to have them in the truck before I move. My buddy Neil and myself spent most of this last week swapping the head out on his truck. It had been running on 2 cylinders for a year and 9 months(believe it or not). Now it runs better than mine!  We also added psc hydro assist, a new cam, and fixed a dozen or so other engine problems.

I hacked up my rear trail jizz bumper to add a swing out tire carrier, looks good so far. I used a 4wheelersupply spindle kit and a nissan pathfinder 2 stage latch. Made it out of 1.75 dom, thanks to 87pickup for the use of his bender! I will post some pics up when I get it completely finished.

I got the new droid x and have not figured out how to use it yet, but when I get some time to figure it out ill post a bunch of pics up!
