So I might have a line on a LC low boost "8-10 PSI" turbo kit and SDS engine control kit for the 3rz. This would allow me to bump to 250ish HP. Would this be good crazy or bad crazy or just f-en awesome.
If you see it, its for sale.

I'll throw in my 2 cents.  I have raced naturally aspirated, turbo, and supercharged 4 cylinder cars and personally I would only run naturally aspirated or supercharged engines for off-road applications.  Turbos have a peaky power band with little low end torque(unless they are very small and spool quickly) where as a supercharged or naturally aspirated engine has a linear increase in power and torque basically from idle on up.

The Trd 3rz supercharger for the 98 has some problems. A supercharger would be my first choice as well.

On the other hand a turbo charger has more boost potential.

i just ordered the ram so far, 200ish for the ram kit. If i were to get, the ram 200ish tapped box 300, highflow PS pump 300ish. PSC is the best in the induastry. i would never think twice about odering from them.

If you see it, its for sale.

so it was 200 just for the 1.5" x 6" ram?  or did that include mounting tabs and stuff too?

True, you have more boost potential.  You also have more heat induction and more detonation potential.  Running lots of boost requires a lower compression ratio(less torque when off boost) or an intercooler to lower charge air temps in order to deter detonation and lower engine temperature, which also requires cooling air circulation (OK for the street but, not something you usually get on the trail).

yeah. the 3rz runs 9.5:1 with that 8 lbs would prolly be max. 91 plus octane a must. My plan is to run till it dies then on the rebuild run forged 8.5:1 pistons.

this is also a DD so the extra pep would be nice. And we all like mudding from time to time where HP is king.

the kit has a in cab boost adjuster also so on the trail i could tune it down.

But i agree with you. but a super charger is more $$ and has its own list of problems.
If you see it, its for sale.

Just one more thing, on the price difference.  Don't let the initial cheaper turbo cost fool you.  Most of the supercharger kits come with a fuel management solution which has had many hours of testing in all climates and altitudes.  You will have to pay for this in dyno time to tune your system(you may want to check around for a quality dyno shop/tuner and check their rates).  Again this is just my opinion and you can take it with a grain of salt, just make sure you do lots of research.

I am really enjoying your build  keep it up!

So I left work, at night in the rain, in my '06 Acura RSX-Type-S and I was like hmm seems to be pulling a little to the left and made a note to check my tires when I got home. I only live 20ish min from work.

Well while driving down the SR16 at 60 MPH it started pulling real bad and a bad vibration started. I traveled a few more miles until my exit and found a safe spot to stop. Holy crap, I knew the tires were needed replacing soon but never expected to see this when I changed the tire out with the spare!

Looks like I was right about it being low on air, and seems to have been favoring the inner edge. This is from the Koni shocks and eibach springs under the car and my failure to install a rear camber kit. However the drive side shows no odd wear? Weird.

Once aired down, something gashed it open like a pumpkin on Halloween.

Good two inches went all the way through. Holly crap! Good thing they were low profile.

So I found the little b*std and pulled it out. Screw this now I have to buy new tires!

So I called around and found my line and price on the parts wasn't that great. But it got me thinking and I thought of something possibly even cooler and a quarter of the costs. Not sure if im going todo it or not, but if i do, it would be awesome!.

Those tires look pretty rough!  thats a common sight for me though, I have owned lots of lowered hondas that dont have the proper parts installed to correctly adjust the camber.  Got anyhing else done to your RSX?  I love those cars and have always wanted one

Just the Koni's and K&N intake. I love the car, it's fun!. The front it good to go with adjustment. The rear I didn't have the money at the time(the Koni's and spring was about 1k) and it kept getting bumped in the list of things todo cause it doesn't really effect the handling.

Same type of tire wear happened to me in my wrx. The previous owner installed coil overs and just slammed it into the ground. Was on my way home from a parts when when I got a flat 45 mins. from home, really sucked.

It's only 1" lower the stock. Yeah some people do crazy things with them that make is super hard to drive on the street.
